Wow!
Well I think that is also not right, hell I won more games than most players that were in the top 3 of there groups, and 3 times what them 2 won, I swear I seen a statement where you would be also judging people on there wins, so how is it fair to place people who did not even do well over those who did, whats the point in ever playing in a tournament when skilled isn't even looked at.. Is it that you want easy opponents? and the rules seem to keep changing on here also, well at least I know better next time.

Okay, seems pertinent for a reply since I see this seems to be an issue. You really need to ask Sir Ricco but it was my assumption that his decision was based on a lot of different criteria, percentage of games won, activity in this site, gameplay within games played with certain players, probably eighty more reasons I'm not aware of, but it is what it is and there is certainly no hidden motive here. Sorry to have stepped on a toe or two being one of his wildcard picks, and myself I am certainly honored that he saw my gameplay to be something noticeable, but I play here not for rank or for points, I play here because I have played the game of Risk for more than 40 years and CC gives me more reasons to play the game. I will respectfully bow out of the tournament if this is a concensus of CC, but until I hear otherwise you will find me in my games playing to win.

thanks for organizing this tourney. Atreidies, no hard feelings here you were a tough opponent in Bravo group. Good Luck in round 2! I'll be waiting for Map Blaster III. I'm not sure what the judgement was to be picked as a wild card but I would still play in another tournament of this style. Thanks for the games and will be watching for people in the Bravo Group to play against again.

lol, omg yea right, Thats bs what you did, its like giving the Miami Dolphins a wild card pick over the Patriots

, you didn't pick any of the wild cards becouse of there skill well besides speed and natewolfman. Astreides sorry but your not even close to my league, you have the same amount of points as me minus 10 less games won than me isnt that the point of risk is to win, how can you even think you earned it. and you talk about participation were was your post when brandoncfi asked why we think we should have a wild card spot, in which only 3 ppl replyed and he didnt even pick none of them you know what i should do just start a tournament and let all my friends go on no matter how much they suck at risk

That's to bad sorry you had a bad time...But even if it would have been a straight point system to get into round two you would not have made it so Im not sure why you are so upset.
And further more my picks were Nate and Speed both of which are more than qalified to move on by any standards
Sir. Ricp and Hath were instructed to pick any player with whatever criteria they wanted to use. I approve of both their picks so again sorry you didn't make it but...You did not get enough points even with all your wins

well like i said before if it wasn't for a player dead beating most of his games it may have been a whole different story, and not having a clue as to what the standings where most the tourament didn't help either so whatever, and your not my friend, my friends don't let easy people continue so they can have a easy way to win. you know what yall did is wrong and there are others that think the same thing so this isn't just a one sided opion. how can you say that someone that has more wins than most is less qualified to go on than a player with just 6 out of 77, and jenifer, natewolfman, and agile 76 never even posted one game on here or anything else, but they deserve to move on, even though they didnt even follow the rules of posting your wins, and jenifer won 3 games, what a joke. that makes it real hard for me to have a positive out look on your tournament.

Honestly though, your a good player bigdaddyslim, but its his tournament, he can run it as he wishes... I havnt had a wildcard pick in mine before, but ive come across cases when, a player drops out of a tournament in the 2nd round, so i have to go back to the first round to decide who takes his place... i usually base it on performence, but when its equil and such, i will pick a player that i KNOW plays turns on time and will not hold my tournament over...
bigdaddyslim2 wrote:you know what i should do just start a tournament and let all my friends go on no matter how much they suck at risk
I think you should... not the let your friends go on part, but just make a tournament or two\
NOTE: not saying this to be mean really, your a great compeditor but...
Its alot more work then you may think to do some of these tournaments, sure some are easy... 1v1 brackets are pretty simple, but ones like MAP BLASTERS take ALOT of work to do... hell id have to think twice about doing it and ive done some crazy tournys

all and all though, the few tournaments of mine youve been in your a good compeditor, you join games promptly and play well, and thats great, but this is his tournament and if he says "every round i will pick 2 players who did the worst to move on" thats his porogative, because he did the work to set it up, so its only fair that he says who moves on and who dosnt, ya know?

well I don't think it is hard at all, if you keep up with it early, and record the games and score as they are getting done.
all and all though, the few tournaments of mine youve been in your a good compeditor, you join games promptly and play well, and thats great, but this is his tournament and if he says "every round i will pick 2 players who did the worst to move on" thats his porogative, because he did the work to set it up, so its only fair that he says who moves on and who dosnt, ya know?
Then what is the point of playing, and he didn't say he would be picking the 2 worst players, he said it would be judge on points and wins so how is that close to allowing a player with 3 wins to advance, or 6 wins come on. And I do know your tournaments are always fair and done right natewolfman, and you never heard a complaint out of me but come on man in the name of competitiveness and fair play, I really don't care that I wasn't chosen, but when good players get screwed to allow players that did poorly in a tournament to advance that does make me angry, sorry if anyone thinks im rude but damn if I wont be heard at least. like them 2 girls even have a chance to win lol. and nothing was done at random on this tourny

The best way to guarantee getting into the the next round is to be in the Top 3. Otherwise you are left to the whims of others. Personally I think there shouldn't be any wildcards, but its his tourney, his rules. I made sure I got in Round 2 by winning my group.

honestly i dont visit threads after i join them very often unless its to post my winnings, so i didnt see whenever you were talking about earlier about the wildcard, but from what i understand is he said to himself, Ricco, and Hath (all of whom i personally do respect as organizers/players) that they could pick whomever they want as the wildcards because those 3 players did the best in Map Blasters I... and a couple things to point out based on this
1) brandoncfi (the creater) for his choice did pick 2 players who did very well but didnt quite clench it (as you said before) which is the most fair choice and what i would have done in his possition
2) as for Sir. Ricco and Hath, in there possition I would pick weak players, players you think you could beat easily because I want less competition in the following rounds, its all a stratagy ya know?
so for all the players i can see good cause for them being chosen... Is the wildcard the best route? maybe not... but it is one way to go, and based on the information given... I think they were chosen as well as they could have based on who was doing it.

herehere! (although i cant cheer too loud as i was a wildcard

bigdaddyslim2, why you continue on with this is a total mystery to me, deal with it and go on. As far as your 10 points over me, probably true hell I never looked, but likely that is due to the fact that I have played a few more games than you during my time here, wait let me look, yep played 1269 games to your 360 so that might have to do with a little of the points discrepancy. Rank, don't mean squat to me, sorry to anyone that might offend but I'm here to play a game, a game that will have no effect on my life beyond the simple enjoyment I get from doing it, it will not give me a better lifestyle, it will not increase my income, it will not give me some prescience over how to live in a harmonic peace and tranquillity, dude it's just a game!

hahahahaha, wow it wasn't 10 points I was talking about its how I won 10 more games than you, and all your 1269 games proves is that you are easy, with all that experience you still cant win. wow if its just a game then why do you sound so hostile. why tell us "I been playing risk for 40 years" lol. The reason your mad is becouse you know I am right. Why wont cc give you a better lifestyle? I think it has improved my lifestyle. I get to meet and chat with different people and cultures from all over the world and it is lots of fun. I really don't mean to be rude, but I think natewolfman hit it on the money. They want to win and it would be easier to play you than me, and thats sad. That really says and shows something about them. And if you were not so narrow minded you might just understand that. I would rather play a harder player than an easy one, it helps me become a better player. but good luck to you becouse you need it. Risk isn't about who comes in 2nd or 3rd or 4th, its about winning, total World domination. This might just be a game to you but to me and others this is a competitive tournament. I am very competitive and sorry the truth hurt your feelings. "If you aint first your last" Ricky Bobby said that lol.

This is a problem unfortunatley 3 players all requested a weekend extention I think one from each group. So if you have to get out of a few games inorder to join some others feel free to do so, but please keep at least the 1st 30 or so games
