Great! I also think its better.

Now add some decorative elements to the non-playable area, and lets quench it! :D

The tulips look like they're attacking holland!

Maybe something transparent like the images in my Mongol map. Had a quick google and found this:

Something like that? You could probably use that image flipped around so the windmill is about where the centre tulip is... Make it brown towns as wel.

Its a big map and the space at the bttom unbalances it a bit.

Not really a big fan of that image, I think some sort of image representational for the area would be nice in that place. A while ago I suggested the flag, but I think the flag works alright behind the bonuses.

I suggest looking into a number of different images.

how bout the the official dutch coat of arms (is that the right word for 'nederlands wapen'), like http://www.cmo.nl/pe/pe25/images/wapen.jpg
Image

you might wanna remove the lion from the title (top left corner) to balance the total number of lions :P

i agree. if u have to put sumthing i like the coat of arms best however. its more... abstract, like the flag. the rest of the map is too stylized for real life images.
Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."
