I don't have a name to my role, I'm just "Inquisitive deputy".

... Why did you do that?

Anyway, re-reading. rebelman strikes me very suspiciously with the way he's treading around some areas. He says no to vote Fircoal, but why? He's likely a mafia cop. What would be better than lynching a mafia cop?

Then there's wicked. Also protecting fircoal at a distance. Trying to make us believe that / is actually a mafia cop, but I Don't see how he could be. He sounds very confused and is just trying to protect his duties.

Personally, I think we've hit a mafia group by them just coming out - rebelman, wicked and fircoal.

rebelman wrote:i actually think fircoal's character is a townie one not a scum - id have to watch the film again to be sure but dont forget based on the first post this game seems to have 3 groups - 2 mafia families and the townies - yes many of the townies are crooked/nasty too eg the senator and the archbishop but they are still townies. mccluskey never alligned with one of the families what he did was act as a bodyguard for the drug trafficker Sollozzo, but that would still make him a townies based on three groups logic ie 2 scum families and the rest townies - theres every chance nag has made him a paronid cop or something like that (which would be in keeping with the movie) but hes definitly a "town role"

That's only part of what I've read about McCluskey. Yes he's acted as Sollozzo's bodyguard, but he's also a "crooked" cop who's on Sollozzo's payroll, and Sollozzo is associated with the Tattaglia family. Sollozzo and McCluskey are the two guys that Michael Corleone kills with a gun from the bathroom in the movie. Therefore McCluskey is an enemy to the Corleone family, but that doesn't mean he's town. I would think that he's still scum.

We should also keep in mind now that two cops are known, that there may be mafia roleblockers as well. If either or both were blocked, we'd have no info to go on for tomorrow's lynch, which is why I believe Fircoal should be lynched now. After all, whether Fircoal is scum or not, we can get a lot of info from his lynch because we can then go after / or icedagger or those who questioned / right away rather than stopping to listen.

However, we should find out if McCluskey is someone who might start out town, but end up scum because Fircoal doesn't seem to be bothered by his roleclaim. In my opinion, even Michael Corleone doesn't involve himself in the family "business" until later in the first movie, so maybe he's town right now, but not later. The same could be said for other roles in this game as stated before.

As far as McCluskey goes, if he's not scum, I believe he will be eventually. It bothers me that Fircoal wasn't bothered to say his role name, but I still think we lynch him and hope for the best.

Unvote, Vote Fircoal

I would still like to hear from Fircoal one last time before he may or may not be lynched.[/b]

If Fircoal investigates someone tonight and that person is a member of carleone's, he will share it with us in order to let us lynch that person! If that person is town, solozzo family will know the identity of a townie.

Any thoughts?

Nice idea but it doesn't work. If he was scum cop, and investigated someone and was under pressure himself, he would likely say they're scum even if they're town.

He is a SCUM cop. It is a FACT. As I said, unless Nag has changed the entire setup of the characters, McClusky was dirty the whole time.

There is no reason not to trust that he is scum considering Fir himself said it.

If he is a good cop, then "/" dies tomorrow. If he was a bad cop, the doc protects "/" and we have more info every night.

Ank you sure about the name thing? I've been so busy pointing out the glaring scumminess by /, I wasn't paying attention to the whole name thing. I'll take the blinders off now. Still think / is a mafia cop though.

Please, for the love of God, tell me you have seen one of the most epic and controversial movies of the 20th Century?

I know all about the names. I have read the trilogy three times and seen the movies more than I could count.

I am NOT saying "/" isn't scum. But I guarantee Fircoals name is.

wait, wasn't it important that I investigate Fircoal tonight to make sure of my sanity?
I mean there is still the possibility brought up that he's scum later but not now, so wouldn't it be best to keep him alive for now in case we have a vig or something on our side who can get rid of the scum?

No, /

It is better to get rid of McClusky now.

He is nothing but trouble, and waiting a night is not going to do us anymore good.

McClusky is a dirty cop... Fircoal even admitted that was his name.

He needs to die.

If there's a mafia cop, which I'm sure there is in a storyline like this, there may be mafia roleblockers as well. There may be more than one night kill on you as well. There may be too many variables to allow for a safe investigation for you tonight. At least, that's what I think.

Oh and there may be more day kills as well. I just don't know if we can waist any time.

I Really hope you are right for many peoples sakes, but I thought we established that even a scummy name can be town, it even says so on the front page. Plus the names of the two dead...
Still I suppose it's our best bet.

Sorry, but if Nag changed the setup of the game THAT much from the actual storyline, then I'll bow out, because all of my info will just make it harder for me to play.

Umm no?

I'm just wondering about the rules warning about names though hurting the town. Maybe I'm reading too much into it though.

How would something in your supposed role PM have to do with your sanity?

Well, in larger games there are usually cops with different sanities, I was just assuming that I could investigate someone before they are lynched to make sure I'm sane so it doesn't hurt the town later and get an important role lynched, besides if I have the role of someone insane wouldn't it be logical to lie to me in my role PM aswell?

I'm guessing there will be several sanities around, but / you are a dumbfck for coming out so soon with no real reason. I am not a fan of lynching anyone with a claim of cop on day 1 as it is just too risky to kill off a real one or two.

It is risky, but a mafia cop is one role we don't want to last long in any game. The risk may be worth it.

I think we should lynch Fircoal, but maybe we shouldn't. I'll leave it up to the rest of you.

I know in Nerds doing something stupid like this almost fatally screwed up town. Looks like they lucked up though although i won't confirm it til tomorrow to doublecheck my roles on the other computer.

I've said before that I've voted someone based on the description of their role in past games and they turned up town. A mod's view of a role is all that matters. I disagreed with some I've seen, but what can you do?

I guess my fear is that / gets roleblocked or killed and we still won't know anything about Fircoal on day 2, when we had a lynch to use on day 1.

as long as / isn't killed with a janitor then we should know something in regards to his role. I would suggest though that if you're a doc to try to protect / and give him a chance to at least discover his sanity on Fircoal. if there is a second doc or protective role then fircoal might be worth keeping for now. even if he was working for one of the families if he is giving us "good info" ie if someone was a scum member of his opposing party or not then he would be semiuseful to have. if we discover he lied to us via a lynch or nk of someone he claimed was something then we can in turn lynch him. I know i just personally hate lynching someone purely on a name reason without any other evidence.

I am firm in my stance and will not be changing my vote.

Sorry, but McClusky has to die. Letting a notoriously dirty cop live is ridiculous, and, even if he is not antagonistic now, he will be soon enough, and we won't know when that changes.

I'd follow suit Nark but... I've never seen the movies, so I have no idea how likely you are to be correct in your assesment. :P So I too will have to go the 'bad move to kill a cop day one' route.

Yep... Just type:

Unvote
Vote: Fircoal

But make it the correct color.
