I do not wish to be replaced in this game, and I will try to participate. Of course, I am behind as usual. I received two prods from Rodion, and in both, I informed him that I would be busy. Not so much from the holidays, but more or less because I was moving to a new house.
And yes, the games that I am modding are my #1 priority, however, if you were truly attentive to Stool Pigeon Mafia, you would notice that I had some inactivity in that one as well (went five days without posting).
I think it would be a bit uncanny for me to say that I find wildwilliam suspicious. Doomyoshi made a good case against him, but I think it is better for me to address the case against myself.
Basically- yes I was inactive, and I missed my role call. Before doomyoshi made the case on wildwilliam, I found Victor slightly suspicious. It wasn't enough to think that he was scummy. I just wanted to know if anyone could decode his messages.
The irony is that I had posted shortly before it was my turn in the role call, but that post didn't have much sustenance. Then my next post was about agentcom- which had nothing to do with the game. I believe that's when I started to receive a flurry of votes.
But once again, I don't mind the votes, and I will claim if needed.
Thank you, a claim was never needed yet.
unvote, just don't let it drop to inactivity that far agin

,
c9 i understanded your point but votes always gets her to talk which has done so, i must admit, it was a bit close to the dl to do that.

oh forgot to mention. Master Bush is one of those people who needs to be replaced. Unless there's something about his role that does not allow him to post than he's been inactive since the beginning.

Yes, replace Master Bush as well. He obviously knows how to post all over the site, so he either forgot about the game or doesn't care.

Gotta run, will post more when I get back.
I understand what you're saying here, but I'm just not sure I buy into the fact that Doom did it to try and paint a noob as scummy...
And, for the record, I've seen something like a roll call before.
Just doing some meta here - Doomyoshi started a very similar roll-call in Clue Mafia. I've played quite a few games with Doom over the past few months, and implementing roll-calls seem to be his main technique.
I feel that Rodion's request is fair. It should not be a problem getting to page 32 if the activity level stays the same. Even if there is a lot of activity- I know it can be frustrating from a mod-standpoint, if people are indecisive about the lynch. In order for the next few pages to not be "fluff," we'll have to continue to analyze the cases/arguments given so far.
I know you guys are just trying to lighten the mood, but I think the joke votes are a bit out of place in this stage.
FOS wildwilliam for now. Even though people have begun to unvote him, I'm still interested in hearing more from him.
maximumbandit wrote:DoomYoshi wrote:It is easy to forget the fact that just because someone is illogical does not mean they are scum. The community must be ever vigilant and wonder: does this flaw in argument point to the perpetrator as scum?
I don't have strong feelings either was as to whether Doom's defense of WildWilliam is valid or not - but I do think that this is a good point, and have seen the "their argument is dumb, they must be scum!" thing backfire enough times, even in the few games I've played (3) to see a need for caution in a circumstance where this might be a factor.
QFT. This is why I simply FOS'd william, and did not vote him yet.

I just want some clarification on this. I understand that posting without any contribution to appear active is a scummy move, but in cases like these, shouldn't we wait to see if he actually becomes active before throwing down the gauntlet? I know I've had times where I had to immediately run so I couldn't finish my train of thought right there. Or is this because of the impending deadline?

It is because he hasn't posted even once since the game began.

I'm pretty sure that was more of a welcome-to-the-game-jokevote. Vio even referenced the fact that we probably shouldn't be joke voting now. That happens when people get replaced. Their replacements usually get a joke vote or two from someone. I have no feeling towards drunkmonkey right now.
I would also like to hear a little something from wild.

Wow, so much to catch up on, yet...so little. The main points of interest seem to be VS being VS, the roleclaim/roll call fiasco, Doom's motive behind the roll call, violet, and wildwilliam.
1) I personally think VS's play has to be taken with a grain of salt. It seems to be normal D1 play for him, with lots of flavor posts but little substance. Could be scummy, but too WIFOM to make a call at this point.
2) Zimmah's misunderstanding caused a great deal of confusion, but I guess I understand it on his part. I think the biggest tell to come out of that was ghostly's play. He immediately jumped behind zimmah, but then made a few contradicting posts which were just...off. Not to mention he's from the US, and should have had no trouble understanding what "roll call" means. After he managed to back out of that, he immediately threw an FOS on Doom and newguy for simply stating that he was acting fishy (sort of a mini-OMGUS). Then he disappeared for 11 days, popped in to wish happy holidays, and hasn't been heard from since.
3) Starting a roll call discussion does not mean DoomYoshi is town. Either side could start that discussion. That's it, nothing more. I really dislike the practice of immediately responding to a discussion starter with suspicion, as it will eventually lead to no more discussion starters.
4) VioIet is one of many inactives. She claims to be busy, but at least she's given somewhat of a response. Small FOS, but I don't think it's the best case.
5) Wildwilliam is probably the #2 case in my eyes right now. He brushed off a legit case, then when called on it, came out guns-blazing with a OMGUS on Doom. Then again, he was called out for not giving a good response, so I don't think we can hang him for being thorough in his next response. If he hadn't capped it off with a vote on Doom, it probably wouldn't have drawn as much attention from me.
There was a lot to catch up on, and I may have missed some of it when I got around to summarizing. But I think ghostly acted the most scummy, from my reasons in #2.

Since we now have a second replacement in this game, do you mind extending the deadline please?
I had almost forgotten about the ghostly case. Considering what I do remember it seems I came to the decision that it wasn't really worth pursuing.

Interestingly, it seems games can only have high activity when Rodion is L-1.

Final deadline set at january 9th, noon (EST). Yes, it falls on a monday, so plan accordingly.

Well good call on any fishiness, I would have thought it would take more than that long to read through all this. BUT I do believe we went over not only that:
1. I was very confused because of apparently not reading thoroughly (I guess skimming, but it was honestly my screw up on that end)
2. This and mr squirrel's game are my very first mafia on this site. There is a lot for me to learn, as people here are very good mafia players compared to the normal cardgame I play on trips with friends. This group would run them right over

3. My 11 day inactivity was due to a mix of things. The fact that there was no strongly nit case against anyone, on top of that, the fact that the conversation we did have was about FF with a couple cases of weak, dismissed cases. I was inactive all through my break except to drop in and say happy holidays, yes, but that is because I knew any deadline would be a soft one, or would be non-existent. Busy holidays=Just checking in on games, etc.
Hope that explains. And welcome to the game 2 new players

.

Ok,pretty much caught up on what was going on, Vio has a reasonable explaination for why she was gone. And william dude not even going to get started with you again after the last game(not yet anyway) where it was obvious that I am town. So roll call,I am here bring on death to scum.

. Thanks for letting me play Rodion

I dont think there has been a doomyoshi case besides early on, and he convinced me he wasnt scummy. From what I have been reading you are the one racking up the votes here, so I plan to read into that more shortly. @WW by the way. lol.
I will see if I come across another doomyoshi case while I read though.

Since we really don't have that much time left, but enough to attempt and salvage something from this day, I'd personally be fine with applying more pressure to William. One thing I'd like to avoid is this thread dying until Sunday now that the deadline has been moved. Should we decide to pressure, the time is now.
