Dukasaur wrote:
By now you've travelled around the world with the same people and should know them fairly well, so on this stop for the first time there will be more team games than solo games. [player]Scott-Land[/player] the creator of the Chicago map wrote, "Optimally it was designed for 6 man triples but I've gotten a lot of feedback on how well it plays as doubles. Being an escalating player, it will play at its best as 6 man when playing singles." We will follow all three of Scott-Land's recommendations, playing Trips, Dubs, and a 6-player Escalating singles game. One player will stay in Chicago and run for Mayor; the other five will go on to the Finals in New York.
Each player will participate in:
One Manual Escalating Adjacent Foggy Trips game,
One Automatic Escalating Adjacent Sunny Trips game,
One Automatic No Spoils Unlimited Foggy Trips game,
All three Trips games score 4 points to each member of the winning team.
One Automatic Nuclear Chained Sunny Dubs game, scoring 6 points to each member of the winning team.
One Automatic Escalating Chained Foggy Standard game, scoring 5 points to the winner, 4 points to the 2nd place finisher, and so on.
5 points awarded for the "colour and flavour" bonus.
Maximum possible: 28 points

In 1893 Joplin was in Chicago for the World's Fair. While in Chicago, he formed his first band playing cornet and began arranging music for the group to perform. Although the World's Fair minimized the involvement of African-Americans, black performers still came to the saloons, cafés and brothels that lined the fair. The exposition was attended by 27 million Americans and had a profound effect on many areas of American cultural life, including ragtime. Although specific information is sparse, numerous sources have credited the Chicago World Fair with spreading the popularity of ragtime. Joplin found that his music, as well as that of other black performers, was popular with visitors. By 1897 ragtime had become a national craze in American cities, and was described by the St. Louis Dispatch as "a veritable call of the wild, which mightily stirred the pulses of city bred people."

I guess we dropped the ball a bit on announcing the scores.
musteriuz, as noted previously, was the first person to answer part 3 correctly and gets the maximum of 5 points.
kiwi3 was the only one who dug up an interesting fact that I hadn't expected, and gets 4 points.
GregDavidson gets 3.
WorldCup4James answered only part 1 and gets the minimum of one point.
For those who haven't seen the movie or read the book, I strongly suggest both. They are both very powerful and moving.
