Scoreboards
- Final update will happen as soon as all round 1 games are done.
Games
- Just 4 games left to finish in round 1!
Other Stuff
- I've started thinking that best of 3 in the final bracket is waaaaay too little. Therefore, I'm thinking of changing the final format to best of 7 or even best of 9. Waiting feedback before making my final decision.

I think best of 3 is good, because you have to play against 31 players (or 39) at best of 3, 7 or 9 games against each of them would be too much for everyone (especially for the TO

)

Actually, round 2 is a simple bracket for 32 players.

For what I read in the first post, round 2 is the final round

Yes, round 2 is the final round and it is a 32-player bracket which I decided to make best of 3 when I created the tournament but now I'd like to make it a best of 7.

I'll think about the suggestion but I'm still drawn towards best of 7 because it has been such a long tournament.

Scoreboards
- And it's here and done! Round 1 scoreboards are fully update and finalised.
Games
- All games of round 1 are done now. Overall 2051 games were played (and only 3 of them were joined by wrong people which was my fault when I sent out wrong games to wrong people).
Other Stuff
- Edit on January 5, 2011 (under setup in post 1): Bracket has been changed to best-of-7 because it is more fair when taken under consideration how long round 1 was.
- I'll be setting up round 2 shortly, I'm currently creating the bracket and will get the games out either today or tomorrow. Most likely tomorrow as I'm really tired right now.

Thanks for letting me know, sorry you have to be away for such sad reasons.
I haven't got round 2 out yet, I've been hung up with other things, I apologise. I'll try to get the games going out shortly.

General Achievement MedalsLike it has been mentioned at the beginning of the tournament and somewhere in the middle, 2 contest achievement medals will be given out in this tournament.
A Contest Achievement Medal will be awarded to the player of the loser side who baked the most cookies... eeh, had the most wins in round 1.
First medal has been given to [player]Don 1[/player], congratulations!
Second Contest Achievement Medal (renamed to General Achievement Medal) will be awarded to the reserve player of the losing side with the best winning percentage (minimum 10 games played).
The other medal will be given to [player]benga[/player], well done!

And, now, on to round 2. Well done, my coconut champions, we have beaten the Bots of Peanut!

This has also earned us a place in round 2 where we will play a 32-player bracket (best-of-7) and the winner of the bracket will be crowned champion of the first ever Cookie Battle!
I have set up the bracket (finally) and created a bunch of games. Everybody has to play 2 games at once and I will try to keep to the pace of not sending out more games. If some pairs stay behind too much then I might send out third and/or fourth game also in the next 2 weeks but I hope it won't lead to that.
Also, dapp69er will receive invites to his games next Sunday (January 16) and isn't forced to join before he returns.

Yep, I decided to change it to give some more depth to round 2 and bring it even a bit closer to the seriousness that round 1 was
HighlanderAttack wrote:Finishing the third game--I will be up 2-1 not sure if you want us to let you know or not
I've never "ordered" people to post results but sometimes it does speed up the tournament when people post after a game has finished.

Round 2 Level 1: 7 pairs have finished their matchup which gives us 7 people who have advanced to next level. Including number 1 seed Dapp69er, number 2 Jbcb and number 6 HighlanderAttack. In all the finished pairs, higher seed has been succesful and earned a spot to next level.

Round 2 Level 1: 9 pairs are done and still all higher seeds have advanced. I'm trying to check results daily and send out new games as soon as possible to those who need more games.
