By the power vested in me by Blitzaholic and the Nevada Gaming Commission, I hereby bring you this thread.
As many of you know, there is an effort to create a CC Hall of Fame. Thus far, it has been generally accepted that should the Hall of Fame be made official, there would be 2 committees needed to do this: one committee to select and nominate players into the Hall of Fame, and a second committee of judges to cast their votes on those players nominated.
This thread is to seek out those who would like to volunteer for the Selection Committee.If you are somehow unfamiliar with this idea, please spend 9 hours reading this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17459This thread will stay open for approximately 5 days. Once that time has ended, the names of all volunteers will be gathered and entered into a poll for all of the CC community to vote on. (I ended that sentence with a preposition. So bad.)
The top 15 vote-recipients will be accepted to the Selection Committee.The only people ineligible for the Selection Committee are those who have already been picked as judges.
HOWEVER, before deciding to volunteer, you need to consider the responsibilities of your role on this committee:
1. The ability to work well in a group, specifically the other members of the Selection Committee.
2.
Time and effort spent researching old games, threads, and clan wars in search of “old” talent and past performance.
3. Statistical analysis. The ability to use Map Rank is highly encouraged.
4. The ability to competently match a player with a set of requirements & criteria.
[spoiler=Current working requirements and criteria]Here are some questions the 1st panel of juror's can ask themselves to help with decision making on selecting potential inductees:
1) Has the player played close to 3 years or more on this site?
2) Is the player a good sport and or have a respectable reputation?
3) Has the player ever reached 3000+ points?
3a) If no, what was the highest point level reached?
4) Has the player ever been Conquerer?
5) Has the player been a premium member at least 2 years?
6) Has the player ever been a site worker, map maker, in CLA, and or a programmer of some kind?
7) Has the player organized and won any tournaments?
Has the player contributed more to CC then just the game?
9) Is the player versatile and skilled in different game types and maps?
10) Is the player outstanding, excellent, awesome, exceptional of some sort in gaming?
11) Has the player ever been banned from CC or involved in cheating?
12) Has the player inspired others and or a coach-mentor, helpful to players, teaches them the game
The suggested guidelines by many CC'ers felt these were fair criteria:
1. LONGEVITY: 29x there was mention of a CC player having to have played on the site 30 to 36 months or close to 3 years to be eligible.
2. SPORTSMANSHIP: 21x this was mentioned, basically we want solid, respected players in the HoF. (ratings of 4.5 or higher may be a measurable outcome, although it could be argued as subjective)
3. PREMIUM: 14x the view was shared, that a CC player would need to have been premium member 2+ years.
^^^Those are the basic minimum requirements..... Where we truly decide if someone is HoF worthy is in what they specialized in... Or how well rounded they were as listed below!
Strongly suggested criteria guidelines or Specialty Requirements - If Achieved, should be looked highly upon to help jurors reach challenging decisions! No one would have to meet all of them, however, the more achieved, the easier the choice may be.
29x agreed receiving the special contribution medal, contributing to CC more than just the game
26x agreed on achieving a score of 3000+ at some point during a players career
24x agreed on high cross map ratio was mentioned with 110 (average collected) with 5+ unique kills on the map
21x agreed on a player having 30+ medals-shows some versatility
17x designed 3 to 5 successful maps
17x agreed on tournaments won (5 or more)
16x agreed on organized 5 successful tournaments
15x agreed on mentioning of total victories, 5,000 plus
15x agreed on having a 60% to 65%+ win ratio in team games
14x agreed on score of 2500+ average score or higher
10x agreed on reaching gold in medals in 7 of the 12 categories (or a majority)
9x agreed unique defeats of 5,000+
9x agreed on being a part of CLA
9x agreed broke or set records high to make it more challenging for others to break
9x agreed anyone that was ever a conqueror
8x agreed on being a mod
6x agreed being a newsletter writer
5x agreed played a total of 10,000 games or more
4x agreed being a programmer of some kind
4x agreed made at least one of 1st 5's and top 5's list
4x agreed being a newsletter interviewee
4x agreed made the Top 100 or 1st page of the scoreboard
3x agreed having 22% to 25%+ win rate in 6 player singles, term, ass games
3x agreed no busts or bans/cheating
3x agreed having a 20 game win streak plus
3x agreed over 55% win on 1 vs 1 games
3x agreed SoC
2x agreed 50% kill ratio[/spoiler]
5. Possibly alter and modify the requirements and criteria based on the opinion of the CC general public.
If you feel that you are capable of competently performing the above tasks, please feel free to volunteer yourself for the Selection Committee, and the CC general public will vote on you in a few days.
