Anyways. No argument from me here on what saf and jonty said. As a formerly trigger happy vig, yeah we tend to be too trigger happy. Night 1 vig kills almost always end up badly. Therefore Night 1 vig kills are bad mmmmmkay?
If I am a vig I kill almost every time. I will shoot an inactive without question if I have no good targets, if only to prevent some stupid wagon on them in later days as well as inactive = lazy/cautious scum half the time.

*internal* WHAT! Are you telling me that all these times I've spent hours working on a case just to have it thrown in my face, I could have just told everyone I had a gut feeling

? That is typical. I put in all the work and get nothing back.
*external* gut feeling is ok.
I really wouldn't feel comfortable with telling a newbie vig to act on his gut feeling. That sounds like a recipe for disaster. As far as experienced vig. I don't pretend to be a good enough player to tell an experienced vig what to do. In other words everything I say is for the benefit of a newbie vig in this scenario.

Hah! Good one, dawg. If I had had the vig powers I first thought I had in the post-apocalyptic game, I would've killed your masoned townie partner on night 1. Safari dropped some big tells on day 1
and my gut feeling was that he was scum. That's a double whammy, but I was wrong about him. If I had killed him we would have had no chance to survive and would have had to make our time.

Can you highlight the PR part of someone else's comments when you judge you've grasped their role? I'm a newbie as far as memes go and I'll be lost without guidance.
Did you score a 10? I am disappoint. Why not a 9? I mean, their skins are softer.

If multiple vigs vote, do their extra votes stack? Or does there really have to be a tie for them to do anything unusual?

I see both sides of going after inactives argument.
I'm in favor of going after them because of the math of how many votes we need to lynch someone. If we have inactives bogging the game down, the mafia will kill without lynches happening and then kill again. All they have to do is kill the actives and they'll basically have the game won in 2 or 3 days easily. That's my piece on that.
Lastly, I have a challenge to the mods. If you choose to accept, just say: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
Please, post a vote count and give a deadline. Thanks.

Vigs refer to town vigilantes. They have the ability to kill someone at night. They don't have any bearing on vote counts.

I had a gut feeling about violet in the post-apocalyptic game (and she turned out to be a cult recruiter which I vig'd) and I had one for rodion in the CC mafia (and he was a cult power role whom I caught with my investigation).

I'm not sure. It was def the scientologists, but they had an ongoing feud with the christians and whatnot.
Bottom line is that submarining is rampant in the game. At the risk of beating a dead horse, ckyrias has gone silent again. This is what I mean about random pressure and not getting at least a claim. It's active submarining if someone just drops in, spouts off one post saying they don't really have anything to add, and goes of submarining again. If we can't get lawlrus replaced, I'd go back to the ckyrias wagon and at least get a claim.
Fos ckyrias for submarining again.

There is nothing special about the vote of a vig. Their vote is the same as everyone else who does have a vote. The thing special about vigs is that at night they can choose to pick someone to be killed.

Gut feelings are usually good. I had a gut feeling about Commander in Firefly so I investigated him (in a roundabout manner) and he turned out to be an SK. I had a gut feeling about Rodion in Unknown (and while it almost got reversed on me) I was right there too. Though the problem is that gut feeling usually takes a while to develop. A new player can't come into mafia and have gut feelings that are going to be helpful. Most newbie gut feelings tend to be misleading in nature.
Rodion wrote:Wasn't Violet a harmless recruiter in PA mafia?
I'm not sure if the recruiters themselves in PA were harmless. I think the actual recruiters may have had a win condition for their group to outnumber town just not the members necessarily.

In GT's defense I haven't seen him post anywhere in this forum for a few days now so I think he's just been gone for a bit. This isn't a first for him he does have some times that are busier than others and since he usually comes back without any serious length of absence and almost always contributes meaningful posts when he is on I'm willing to give him a bit of leeway. It appears that perhaps newguy isn't going to post at all. He and a few others need prods if they haven't already been sent. lawlrus and tal obviously. I think / posted semi-recently but when was the last we heard from Tails? Evil and haggis are also missing. Lalaland confirmed and nothing else since and I think Fircoal has gone AWOL from the site in general lately. I'm not sure if I missed anyone else or not.

I don't think it's necessarily beating a dead horse. When he came on he only posted to contribute to his own defense. He has provided nothing of value to the rest of the game and is essentially bringing it down. Honestly though, if the vig does want to take a shot at thinning out the inactives he's probably one of the best choices.

drake was saying he was the driver on the first bandwagon on ckyrias.
As drake already pointed out, there have been multiple people on both wagons and it's all for the same reason, to get people active or get rid of them. I'm not going to re-hash that.
Also, you mentioned Tails and Haggis missing. I'm not one who can talk a lot about people's tendencies, but I've played a couple time with both of them and they usually lay low. BW them and they'll show up. Otherwise, they observe. That's been my feel of those two.

That's more or less true about Haggis, but not necessarily true about Tails. He used to be much more active, but lately he's been sporadic at best.
