Stubbs, thought you'd be the only one I didn't have to explain my activity issue to, with you being on my other forum and all! Anyway, work has been crazy, but the posts that tipped me off about new guy are arranged here for your convenience:StubbsKVM wrote:vote lynx
Says he needs to look into skilfulsniper and new guy. Doesn't deliver.
new guy1 wrote:If I dont give anyone else to look at/my thoughts on things, then its I havent said enough and thats scummy. If I give my take on it, thats scummy. Is there any way to get around looking scummy when all you're trying to do is literally give your input?
These two posts were part of an exchange I had with him, where he justifies worrying about other people's views of him (normally not a townie trait) by shrugging it off while worrying about not surviving (is he new? I've seen newbies worrying about this but it's definitely a tell with relatively experienced players). Anyway, this was the worst post which I only noticed on a read-through:new guy1 wrote:I worry about looking scummy because looking scummy in general gets you lynched, whether you're town or scum.

The way he clarified, in no uncertain terms, 'if you investigate me, you will die' suggests he's not taking any chances with someone targeting him.new guy1 wrote:To add on to Jonty's explanation, if you were to say, investigate me, you would be killed. Same with if you were to doc me, shoot me, etc.

So yeah, I'm happy with my vote. I'll analyse skillful when I get back from work, no time now.Spoiler

new guy was third on the Kirk bandwagon, and certainly got it rolling as the lynch came soon after. Bandwagon positions, while by no means science, are a semi-reliable indicator in my experience.
He also suggested that spiesr (a claimed cop) should visit him during the night, which is certainly not something I could see a town PGO suggesting.
There is a vote count on the bottom of P23. FOS ghostly for skimming, and cue WIFOM this looks like a scumbuddy desperately protecting another.ghostly447 wrote: FOS Lynx You blatantly took all of that out of context. I am ready to vote/hammer, just need a vote count first so I dont hammer on accident.
Okay, but is the spiesr thing the only part of my analysis you disagree with? Is there anyone you think is scummy? I'm just seeing defense here, no real scum-hunting, and it's only serving to make me more suspicious.new guy1 wrote:lynx, while I did suggest it, I did also say it was for speculation and I also said that I considered it a last ditch effort to prove a townie's claim. I consider myself to be kind of a long time player on these forums (maybe like, a year or a year and a half of play) but in no way am I going to say I am a veteran. I dont consider myself a spectacular player by any means and so I may make mistakes.
Bollocks, check the posts I was quoting. Find something relevant I've omitted.ghostly447 wrote:FOS Lynx You blatantly took all of that out of context. I am ready to vote/hammer, just need a vote count first so I dont hammer on accident.
You have one.lynx_ wrote:
And it takes 5 votes to lynch, I think I have one or two on me so far.
Although it wasn't included in the vote count, so either the mod missed it or I have my vote disabled. (Probably the former.)jonty125 wrote:You have one.lynx_ wrote:And it takes 5 votes to lynch, I think I have one or two on me so far.
Ghostly has been defending newguy to a seemingly irrational level this game. Ghostly and newguy know each other in real life, so I am not yet certain if that is all that is going on there or if there is some in game reason.lynx_ wrote:I'm considering changing my vote to ghostly. I've seen both town and scum being buddied, but rarely do I see townies protecting other players like that. I'll review the rest of his content when I get home.
Which doesn't really tell us much about the claim as both a Town PGO and someone fake-claiming one have ample reason not to want any cops to visit them. The way he kind of changes his mind later is interesting though.lynx_ wrote:The way he clarified, in no uncertain terms, 'if you investigate me, you will die' suggests he's not taking any chances with someone targeting him.new guy1 wrote:To add on to Jonty's explanation, if you were to say, investigate me, you would be killed. This post is hilarious. Better mark him down for skimming, jonty.skillfusniper33 wrote:I would vote, but I don't want an accidental lynch to happen even though we only have a few hours left. Would it be worth it to lynch him if he doesn't even show up to respond?

Sorry I have been away, I had a job from Saturday until today, and I couldn't get on to post.
