I know for a fact, he has 2 accounts other than [player]lackattack[/player].. no kidding!

I know for a fact that his penis size in inches equals his number of accounts....I am kidding!!

If everyone of us had the right to create as many accounts as inches he got in his own penis!!!

We'd end up having 5-8 accounts each!! Holy f*ck

The dice change of around 2 years ago has been a horrible experiment gone awry. Change them back.

Personally i don't think that notoriously slow implementation of new suggestions has big impact to new players staying in the game. There is much to explore for new players, there is enough features and content for at least 6 months.

The suggestion to let new players have 1 speed game per day is excellent i'd say. This way they could taste cc within minutes instead of days. Although it might cause an incredible rise in multies, it's still worth to be tested.

More site features - clan database, maps database, scoreboard revamp.
More game features - XML updates, scripts integration, new game options.
Better site design - right now the site looks like it has been made in early 00's
Better 1st game experience - a lot of new recruits leave the site because they don't want to wait 24h for a game.
Better SEO - right now if I google "risk online" CC is only on the second page.

This is from the top of my head to be honest. I am sure I can find more things that can be improved if I wanted.

macbone wrote:First impressions are definitely important. When users come to the CC frontpage, what's going to convince them to sign up?

First games are very important, too. Many players sign up, thinking they're going to get into a game immediately. We need to do a better job at explaining how things work right from the screen they get to after they sign up for a new account.

SEO is important, too. If a player searches in Google for "risk online," they have to pass a lot of sites before they reach CC.

Great posts.

Perhaps, the CC Elite should consider allowing non-premiums to play only one speed game. Why?

(1) This would very likely boost first impressions, and

(2) the repeated visits are more likely to encourage them to buy-in because

(2a) they would become more comfortable with idea of playing the 24-hour game, (as they realize that it's the norm, and it's more enjoyable than it would seem at first).

(2b) repeated visits marginally increase the chances of them becoming more aware of how much this site offers. This would enable them to realize the actual benefits of paying $25.

Seems like the site peaked in 2009, when there was a glimmer of updates seeming like they might happen one day...

the decline coincides with the increased policing of the forums to make them child-friendly.

Out of all the games I have played online, I gotta admit CC was one of the most unfriendly beginner environments I've encountered. Both for help, making just generic "friends" onsite, and forum / live chat.

Others seem much more friendly and open to new users.

I tend to think it has more to do with dissatisfaction with the administration (lackattack and others, but primarily lackattack) of the site, rather than the moderation.

But maybe that's just me. <smile>

I still believe CC sucks at keeping customers... the site, in general, is too confusing for newcomers.

No it's not just you. The admin has totally fucked up the adminstration of this site. It's starting to look like lackattack just doesn't care about CC anymore and treats it as a cash cow that can be milked for as long as it stays profitable...

The forums are a secondary aspect of the site. People join CC to play the game. The game is increasingly geared toward high level players and more complicated maps.

The community aspect is important, but seems at best secondary or tertiary to the way that the site currently panders to established high level players.

But isn't it nice in some way though? That the policy of just sitting back, not updating, not renewing, not giving the members their moneys worth, is actually having some consequences. Albeit he doesn't think it's related to that. It's just a matter of drop off in sign ups to him.
