Hmmm..... First of all thanks for all the feedback oaktown. Now, I'm not sure I agree with,
oaktown wrote:by dropping the state names (Kanses, Colorado, etc) cleanly in the middle of a territory it is unclear which territories are a part of the that state.

By looking at the legend, and seeing the dark state borders, I feel it's very clear which territories are included in the states. I would guess that 99% of people who are smart enough to use a computer, and to understand the rules of risk, and make it to this site, would know that the USA is divided by states, and the blurb in the legend identifies the area as the southern plains of the USA.

I only say this becuase I did attempt to have transpaperent state names, and smaller fonts, or in different placements - but I ended up only liking the placements that did not cover a border, which is what I have today. That's why I'm going to rework the Oklahoma City border, I just don't like the fact the army circle is touching Guthrie when it doesn't have to (small map only). I guess it's a personal matter of style.

If you still disagree, let me know.

I'm satisfied with that, we don't need to worry about 4 digits, and the only places they look to be problems are in territories that should never have that many.

yes I like it, it should be used as the real map, time it right it can be 888 on 888, or 88 on 88, etc.

I've given up on oaktown. He's too involved in the revolution. I just want to end this map, and start the next phase of my life.

To expand, I agree with rj rather than oaktown on the borders, as I feel that between the minimap and the dashed border lines, the map seems pretty well covered when it comes to indicating continent borders. The continent names are fine where they are.

Really looking forward to playing on this one. (I wonder what it says about me that some of my favorite maps on the site are the semi-monochromatic ones)

I actually tried putting some images into the background earlier in development, like the cow-skull, catus & tumbleweeds and an old western wood looking hanging sign with the title "dustbowl" carved into it, but I just couldn't get it right. I think the simple look of the map, with no frills looks the best. Thanks for the suggestion Lone Prophet.

I'll get final images up here soon.

ok no problem than

and maybe you can make the legend clearer like middle gives -1 instead of this "long" story :)

Valid request... anyone else wish for the change? DiM didn't have the lengthy explanation of the frostbite negatives...

I like it as it is. There is nothing wrong with making it really clear. You don't need that space for anything else I don't think.
