We did 2-3 posts before that. Honduras isn t very impressive to be honest...
This has been an embarrassing display for Honduras. I will gladly admit that I don't know much about the intricacies of soccer/football and what constitutes a penalty versus a good tackle versus a card. But Honduras seems to be playing exceptionally dirty, and diving all over the place. Palacios was painful to watch and that ordeal with Pogba was just sad.
Especially after watching such a spectacular play from Switzerland at the end of the game, this one has been frustrating to watch.
I'm hoping that the Argentina/BH game will be a display of skill from the part of Argentina, instead of a flop fest like this one.

Yes, Honduras sucked and Costa Rica played very well, so I basically made a fool of myself with the response I gave you to your question a couple of pages ago.
It's my mistake for categorizing them as having a very similar play all the time, though this time it's clear that Costa Rica has more talented players and Honduras has no talent. You can't blame me for not watching their games except when they play vs Mexico.
In conclusion, BUT BUT BUT le France wins!

Felt like Honduras was competing against the French & the Refs in the first half. The Penalty kick and red card were earned, but there were some iffy fouls called prior to that. Honduras was pretty much conceding the match right from the start anyways, so the French are good, but it's hard to know how good.
Contrasts in style... the Swiss played on through everything, while the French were quick to flop looking for calls. I hope the drama queens of the WC give it a break and I don't just mean the French floppers.
Looking forward to some better matches on the horizon.

oh well I'm pretty happy of the result. Sure, we didn't play a very good team, but it still feels good to win an opening game in a world cup, no matter the rival. I can't remeber last time france started winning its first game, but many competitions back.
We have an average age of 22, the youngest team in the competition if I'm correct, so I don't expect them to win, but it's grood to see we opened the senior team to the generation that became U20 world champion last summer.
Ok, so no one is talking about that historical event????? the "hawkeye" thing to determine if the second goal was in or not! this was just brilliant! 90% of the time the ref doesn't give the goal because he isn't totally sure. I think everybody remembers what happened in the 2010 WC between england and germany..... well this shouldn't happen ever again, because, at last, the FIFA made a step forwards towards fairer decisions.

I thought it wasn't conclusive... the ball obviously crossed the goal,
but was it all the way in?
just for AoG...
Did you notice a German won the US Open by 8 strokes?

i think a 3-3 would have been closer to what happened on the field but considering uruguay was crap, i think both italy and england will qualify and it doesn't matter the order they do it in since they'll face teams from group C, which is the easiest group.
I'm going to book mark this post and throw it in your face when Colombia Knock Brazil out to reach the semi finals

First time I've heard anyone call it hawkeye, was it made by the same people as they use in tennis? Saw the reply just once and it wasn't clear, France deserved the win either way.
Have been pretty spot on in my predictions so far expect for Costa Rica and how easily Holland won. Looking forward to Germany vs Portugal today, will see how fit Ronaldo is. Germany should be to strong though.
Bosnia are mad to change their 4-4-2 from the group stage.... at least Argentina changed their formation back at half time, they looked awful playing Aguero on his own.

these idiots from the fifa have cut all youtube videos showing the goal-line technology and what happened yesterday in france's game. Here is an example of goal-line with an oficial fifa video, but it isn't the first case ever of usage which happened last night.

Just goal line technology, we use the name hawkeye for mostly the tennis. Think I have heard it called hawkeye once maybe and that was ages ago.

Ages ago it wasn t used. Well the thing is that this goal line thing is brand new so i didn t remember the name, so i called it hawkeye since it s the term used in tennis and it s basically the same.
Germany portugal, this is going to be interesting!

Lol just saw that they did a survey in 19 countries involved in the world cup. They asked who would win; in 16 countries most people said brasil, in 2 countries they said spain... And in the usa they said usa, lol. No wonder, i guess americans couldn t name a country outside of the USA given that when a team of any given US sport wins they are self called "world champions"

Also, Honduras - what a bunch of cunts, I blame the manager for encouraging them to play like that. Pogba lost his cool though, was lucky not to be sent off for that like Beckham had been in '98

the hondurian press was all against the french because in some interview the french coach said that honduras usually plays rough and that we will have to be careful with injuries. Oh, sorry about your little butts hondurians, but if you're gonna make a fuss about that statement then don't be butchers+fakers. Are they so subjective about their team that they don't see them as a team that plays dirty?
and Pogba, well maybe if he got unlucky but come on... the guy steps on his legs repeatedly when the ball had gone; pogba kicks him to move him off of him; they both get a yellow card, any other decision wouldn've been unfair. what you english guys are all saying basically is "how lucky was france that the ref wasn't unfair to them because 12 years ago Beckham got buttfucked by the ref for something similar".

It's offically called Hawkeye in Football too, it's the same technology so it makes sense, only difference is that it's set on tracking the ball across the goal line instead of the ball on the tennis court. Super psyched about Germany-Portugal, I'm hoping for one of the best games in the groupstage. Perhaps I can make some money off of it too, or I'll lose some, we'll see.
