What about John Hancock? He presided over the first Continental Congress. That's got to count for something.

Actually it was Arnie - he travelled back in time to protect Llincoln from his assassination, overshot the mark, and ended up running the country.

...but what about Samuel Huntingdon? A bit of googling suggests that that is the name I'd forgotten.

Cyrus Griffin (January 22, 1788– November 2, 1788)

yes this is the order of the presidents under the articals of confederation. so this is the our all our leaders john hancook is no where near the top sorry. also jones yes samuel huntington did serve before john hanson as you can see by the dates. however you must take into account that we were still fighting the british when this he was in office. we had not won our independance from them yet not unil jone hanson when british formal acnoleged our freedom and us as a state. also if you want to be tecniacal you could say that penton randulf would be the first since he was the first under the contiantial convention the very first one. ok there it is for you all to see

Not really, the International Date Line actually bends in a way to keep all of Alaska on the same side.

AK-westernmost, northernmost, and easternmost. Southern is Hawaii.

The date line bends for the time zone but 180 degrees is still in the same place.
