ROFL, the multi hunters have always done their jobs well. No more multis then, than now. I would posit that multis as a proportion of total CC user base is higher now than then. Due to the relatively low numbers on site.

Man, this is a real letdown. I found this site a month ago through a search for online risk games. I was sick of playing the hasbro app on my phone where players just quit as soon as they're in a weak position. I've loved the whole experience and have been playing in as many games as I have time for.

But then I decided to check out the forum tonight and saw this thread about this site's long steady decline. Kind of sucks.

I will say the site design is ancient and the phone experience is brutal. Also, the side bar with the running chat - I don't know if I would keep that on the main page. Not suggesting to censor anyone, but I'm not sure if chats about politics, religion, cheating wives, etc are what you want new users to see as soon as they enter the site. I love my experience here so far, but there's a ton of room for improvement on this site.

I guess I'd look at it the other way in that if you have 7,000 users with the current setup, think of what you could have with a refreshed site, some consistent social media activity, and some proactive PPC and FB advertising. Just my two cents..

I would have to say that when I first joined this site, the community was very welcoming. It had its trolls and people who wanted to flame and cause trouble. But overall, it was a very welcoming place. Today, this community is far from welcoming. Almost every post has an immediate negative comment posted on it. I think the focus now should be on how to get the community more welcoming. Then, we have a really good chance to see this site have more active users.

Again, I think this could help in retaining some users who join.

I happen to agree, I went into live chat and while I got messed with (in good fun) overall the help and experience was very positive.
Went to games, people were willing to teach.
I went to forums and The same I found helpful people and enjoyed my experience.

Nowadays global is politics 24/7, live chat is dead, forums are all about declining, dice bitching, politics, complaints etc. not nearly the "community" feel I saw back when I joined.

I joined in January 2009, right after the first major decline. I found the site on Facebook and clicked on the link. It looks like a lot of ther people did at the same time as the numbers surged right back up after that dip. Perhaps paying to advertise on FB was worth it.

I can't help but think that first major dip was about the time the head mod went bonkers and ban crazy. I suspect that had something to do with the dip.
