And it was with that caveat (pretty much a given on the net these days) that I posted the link originally. I wasn't trying to be hypocritical, just to answer a fairly off-topic question as quickly and easily as possible.

I understood that you meant that, which is why I didn't comment on it before.

Yeh I know. Just wanted to make my little statement on the matter. Thanks for sticking up for me though, chaps...

As for black holes, I don't know a massive amount about them. My brother in law is studying astrophysics, however, so I get most of this stuff from long slightly drunken chats with him.

I know.

It's rare for me to browse the forums at later than 0.00 without being drunk.

But then again I'm drunk a lot.

Well it helps if you check whether the page is part of a series. Most scientific theories have a series linked on the right which means they have been checked for the most part. And checking the sources also helps a great deal.

But it is indeed sometimes a bit off.

Yeah, a while ago I saw the article for Richard Nixon, it said he was "the first president to be unable to find the bathroom in the white house / the first retarded president"

Logic dictates that won't happen, I'm afraid...

Logic dictates someone is going to be sent to their room w/o supper. No need to respond to the troll, carry on.

It is implanted in people's mind that there is a sort of moral code, thus people will try to say things like "there can't be a God there's to much evil in the world!" The irony being if there is evil, there is a code of moral laws, if there is a code of moral laws, then there must be a law giver, thus I believe it logical to believe in God.

Evil is something made by humans to scare other humans - nothing more, nothing less.

It's just anything we disagree with that can hurt us (us meaning the familiar world from the point of view of any given human).

Evil is doing nothing when you know you can do something. Pithy saying of the week. Thanks and goodnight.

Some holocaust survivor said that there are three people, those that are inherently good, inherently evil, and indifferent. They go from good to evil in that order.

jay_a2j wrote:Until someone can logically account for the gasses that started the big bang....it holds no water. If the universe is void of anything. A vast "black space" how does anything come into existence???

One of the following must be true.

1. Something with the ability to create has always existed (non-God). Perhaps an eternal meteor, eternal "gasses", perhaps an eternal volcano.

or

2. There is a God.

Now the rational mind can see that things don't just pop up out of nothing. So all things came from something. That invalidates big bang, prehistoric ooze and the like. Tis why LOGIC DICTATES there must be a God.

But to those who stll hold on to the hope that the big bang occured or that want to start The federated church of OOZE. More power to ya.

The Big Bang Theory: God spoke..and BANG!...it was.

im sorry, this just killed me. I have fed the king of trolls. does the non-god thing have to be eternal??????!!!! NO!!!!! I only has to happen so that some bacteria are made, then evolve!!!!!

You know, I think that if I was an all knowing completely omnipotent God, I'd rather create a few huge ass piles of gasses to make a huge ass bang and let nature and evolution take its course, rather than go and create all the little stars, planets, code the DNA, make shit out of dirt, ect. ect. Then again, that's just me.

Really? It doesn't have to be eternal? Then when and how did it get here?

Why would atheists / agnostics start a church?

However the world/universe started is irrelevant. I don't give a shit how it started. I think its more important that we stop destroying it!

No, that's scientific theories with God thrown in as a catalyst, or stirring rod, or some other like term.

Wrong...the gun exists and it was created someplace.

that's ridiculous response and you know it. Fine. I'll spell it out for you. The big bang only had to last a while for the universe to escape. A flash of lighting was all that was needed to trigger the primordial soup. And a little bit of knowledge is all YOU'LL need to understand this for a long time.
