A minimum rank required to battle option.

Post by TKO »

I think that it would be cool if when you started a game, you could set a rank requirement to join up to your current rank, higher ranked opponets would have the option to join any lower ranking games. Say your a 1st Sarg. and you lose a battle to another 1st Sarg. you would lose between 17 to 20 somthing points. If you lose the same battle to a Chef that got killer starting placement or "God rolls" you lose 40 plus points! vs. 11-15 points you'd get for beating them. I'm all for new players getting ahead but I think they should have to cut their teeth against other lower ranked players in order to move up. Like I said it should be a option, so if you don't care who you battle don't select a rank requirement.

I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed. I want to play mostly with players of my own level, not cooks (no offence). Besides, we know that a huge majority of players are under 1000 points. This being the case, there should be no shortage of games for them to participate in. I suggest that you have at least
1200 points and for that to be the minimum limit. Anybody below that plays in public games with each other or better players who decide to join them.

so, I beg you to reconsider

Wouldn't it just drive away new players when the games they could join and learn from higher ranked players would be so limited?

agreed Her.

this did give me pause as i do play a lot of private games ... 2k+ but i also play a lot of public games with all ranks ..

if there were a minimum rank option it would be too easy to never play a cook again. that would be a real shame and isolate the new chaps.

it's basically the ignore a whole rank option with a different spin and i could not be more against it.

Mimum Rank Level required for a player to join a game

Post by Silver- »

Suggestion Idea:
- Mimum Rank Level required for a player to join a game

Specifics:
- Add the possibility during game creation to select the minimum rank level other player need to join the game.

Why it is needed:
1) Will allowed the game creater to limit the level of the other player (if you have 2000 points or more, you may not want player with 1000 or less to play at your table).
2) This will allowed player with higher rank to be able to schedule game with a larger audience when they want to play with high ranking player (no need to setup private game).
3) Will provide some control on the level of points that can be lost in a game (limit the difference for "x" level under your current level).

Suggested and rejected about 100 times.

Since you are premium, just create private games, and post a topic in the callouts forum giving out the password and rank requirements to join.

Better system to control the minimum level for a game...

Post by Silver- »

I find it harder to strat game since a lot of player don't know about this game post in the forum (like me before reading your answer).

I think this is a valid enhancmeent. Multiple online game site have it on Internet (ex. pogo).

An alternative will be to provide a text field to add a description when starting the game. This way we can add description like: "1500+ only in this game, thanks for respecting the requirement for the game"

It has been rejected many times. I think the only way to get this to become something is have everyone vote yes in a poll. But its still a long shot

It is always going to be rejected. Lackattack simply doesn't want the Conquer Club community to become that segregated. If you can't handle losing some points, then find something else to do.

i think its because everyone will set it to their own rank plus. then you will end up only being able to play with people with exactly the same score as you

I think premies should be able to do it.

It's basically the same ideas as setting up a private game. Private games filter out people with whom you don't want to play.

exactly! it happens now, this would just make it easier.

Denying this is the same as going into macdonalds and the staff telling you what you'll have.

Not everybody will do this in any case

I'd rather have lack spend his time programming something we don't already have the ability to do. If you can already make your own games, and make them private and then invite only those of a certain rank, then right now it doesn't need to be changed.

I'd much rather have the things such as 8-player games, increased user stats, forum upgrades, clan systems, clickable maps, etc.

We will do it using private game for now...

Post by Silver- »

I started a thread for private game and I was able to get player with a rank withi 250 of mine (higher or lower).

This alternative is working OK for now.
