But Im Fucks. At least I can see the joke in my character name - and BT day 2 is best done on The Thing, not on me..So if 5 townies think im The Thing and wanna waste a chance to find that out that is their choice.. that's the game afterall.

I didn't realize I was putting sonic at L-1. But putting someone at L-1 shouldn't be a scum tell today anyway since there's only one scum.

This is a crazy situation.

From a brief search online,it seems that at least some standard rules for Mafia do not allow players to vote for themselves, probably to avoid siuations just like this.

Sonic probably is not The Thing because he has put himself in a situation where he is very close to suiciding and ruining the game. This would not bode well for his RL reputation as a mafia player.

However, he isn't really playing very well as town either. Maybe he thinks if he gets lynched this way and then turns out ot be town, he'll have unstoppable bluffing power in the next game.

As of Sonic has a good reputation as mafia player

@Rag, I think there's a disproportionally high chance that Sonic is the Thing. I think it's like 1/5 or higher, which are odds I like.

No, it's because BT me on D2 would be plummeting our town win chances.. But your right in a way i suppose. I would not have played it this way if i was The Thing for real and then ruin everybody's game if i got called..

So I followed your link and, if I got it right.... In this other game you got converted into a vampire (or a zombie or something?), so you're no longer town and then you voted to lynch yourself and you got lynched and town won and it was okay, because you were still really 'town-at-heart' even though you were now a vampire... and everyone just went with that. Is that what happened?!?

So then, maybe the Thing can lynch himself too... because he still has some human in him from before he got "thinged'.

In any case, Sonic is no longer voting to lynch himself. so the question is now moot (in the modern sense of 'moot').

I have a feeling I'm going to feel played no matter what I do... so... Vote Sonic.

If we were following the movie (not that we necessarily are) all of the Things the American researchers encountered were Things that had previously turned into humans or dogs.
Only the Norwegians (off-camera) would have seen an original alien Thing.

Anyway, my take-away from DDS's link is that scum voting for themselves isn't that rare or improbable... and even if you're not scum, you are a townie who acts as bad as scum.

Ok Votanic. Your voting for me because DDS assigned me The Thing role at the start of the game but now im struggling so hard with that my human side wants to kill me to save town? Can't argue with that.. Just keep your vote on me as long as you want to.

1) his emotional outburst
2) completely hiding behind dega for sonic.

Now I'm sheeping with dega as well, but I am willing to provide my reads still.

I think swang's latest post reads quite scum. I dont know what to expect from him.

I think Votanic is town. Imo theres genuine solving here and all of his posts reads like he doesnt have complete info. Votanic is never recruiter.

Ragian reads 100% town to me, Charle and Strike also.

Pix is hard to read because of his absense.

I was thinking Swang was so absent for the same reasons (rl work) and that is why he was only posting very little at all.. but today he popped up twice very quickly. Giving the impression he is reading it all and is not being absent at all.

Despite finding it "disproportionally" likely that Son!c is The Thing, he retracts his vote because his read has changed some ten posts later of which, uncharacteristically, more than 50% weren't by Son!c (still leaving the door open, though). Firstly, however, he says that Swang sounds scummy.

I don't think we need a fourth.

If we do have a lynch today, then who's a better candidate than you?

• You said you wanted to BT an experienced player, but wouldn't switch your vote to me.
• Voting for yourself was either an anti-town action if you are town, or a desperate act to save yourself if you are the Thing.

1) while my intent is to piggyback, I have unvoted Sonic even when dega's vote is still on there. I want to get a lynch going as mentioned earlier and I think we are unlikely to reach a consensus. I am providing my read on people for dega to interpret as he wishes and am open about it, Traf isnt.
2) There's actually a decent point here, but I mentioned it's about "1/5th or higher". Taking into account my readlist and the fact that since then I've gone to trust him more, it's not really disproportionate. Furthermore:

10 posts later mentions nothing about the substance of these posts. To me, Sonic reads way more town than he did before.

@EW, because you have accused Son!c and Swang of being scummy, you want to follow Dega - which, as you've pointed out, you don't. It feels inconsistent and full of discrepancies... You want to keep doors open and make sure that you've pointed to so many people that you can vote them all.

Wait what? - I'm not what? I have provided my read on people. And I'm really open to things I told Deg I think Sonic is not the Thing, but I can vote him if needed. I have been more open or helpful than yourself I'd said, tho is not like someone can be really helpfull today.
