Sterling was the only one who felt dangerous on that team, when Rooney touched the ball you expected a chance to be wasted. It was a good game though, no referee misstakes for once. The only drama was that idiot who broke his foot while celebrating.betiko wrote:Bah, I was sporting england and had a bet on a draw. Rooney is horrible, gerrard has no physical conditions, sterling and sturridge are pretty good. Baines was alright. I just think you should get rid of your old guard.
The only team that perhaps is worse than them (Costa Rica) just beat Uruguay with 3-1 so who knows, perhaps we haven't seen thee extent of Spain's collapse yetbetiko wrote:Australia to win a game, are you nuts? A draw would be an outsanding performance. They are the weakest team of the tournament by far and they are in one of the toughest groups.oVo wrote:Chile looked pretty good, Holland looked awesome. Australia will be lucky if they can pull out a win at all. I don't know if they're too courteous or what, but the Aussie counter attack was nonexistent and with numbers would pause at midfield waiting for the Chile team to catch up.
Chile/Australia had the most Oscar performances of the day and I sure hope the flops don't become a trend for the rest of the tourney.
They are a sparring partner just to receive goals, they didn t really need to buy tickets for brazil other than for tourism.
Not really, you may say something like "HAN GÖR MÅL!!" equivalent of "HE SCORES!!". That ridicoulus way of shouting GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! is pretty much exclusive to latin speakers I think. Not sure how the French or Italians say it when someone scores though.oVo wrote:Hey Gillipig, does anyone there shout

Sterling created opportunities but he can't make a final decisive ball, which is an issue. The thing we lacked, by a large margin, was the finish quality from attacking chances.Gillipig wrote:Sterling was the only one who felt dangerous on that team, when Rooney touched the ball you expected a chance to be wasted. well to be honest I wouldn't have expected this from costa rica. that result was nuts and is pretty good news for both italy and england. that group remains extremely open, italy took an advantage and it will be most likely a dramatic game england vs uruguay. lol, if costa rica makes it through group stages, that would be an outstanding offset!iAmCaffeine wrote:Gillipig doesn't know much about football.nagerous wrote:They are better than Iran surely.Gillipig wrote:The only team that perhaps is worse than them (Costa Rica) just beat Uruguay with 3-1 so who knows, perhaps we haven't seen thee extent of Spain's collapse yetbetiko wrote:Australia to win a game, are you nuts? france to start the competition today... really don't know what to expect.

I actually thought England was going to pull it out, Italy basically went into neutral the last twenty minutes and was careless with the ball, but taking shots from 30m out and beyond is hardly a quality chance.iAmCaffeine wrote:The thing we lacked, by a large margin, was the finish quality from attacking chances.
Fun fact. Last night i betted 10€ on a 1-1 between italy and england. I got pretty pissed off when italy scored as i had lost my bet. Much later, a friend of mine watches my account and tells me i actually won 60€ as i made a mistake entering my bet... I put 1-1 at half time instead of full time!oVo wrote:I actually thought England was going to pull it out, Italy basically went into neutral the last twenty minutes and was careless with the ball, but taking shots from 30m out and beyond is hardly a quality chance.iAmCaffeine wrote:The thing we lacked, by a large margin, was the finish quality from attacking chances.

I second this.nietzsche wrote:I like France but I'd like betiko to go nuts and rage here at half time, so I'd like the ref to f*ck them with 1 penalty kick and 1 invalidated goal. They can then score 2 in the second half for the win.
