I'm almost 100% sure it's the prophet Muhammad so next time it'll be my turn again. My timezone is in between you guys so you should both be able to catch me online sometime lol.

Damn I can't believe I was wrong about Muhammad! He fit in so well

.
So we're looking for a man from the middle east area, known among other things for his military actions, who died before 11th century and who was neither a jew or a muslim. And none of the people we guessed of course. I think we're looking for someone who was born quite a long time before christ. Otherwise he'd be a muslim or jew for sure. Maybe an early inventor who among other things constructed military mekanisms? We've guessed on the most prolific military leaders from that epoc. So I don't think it's someone like that.

Honestly, I'm stumped. I even started looking this stuff up on google...no luck. I guess another question wouldn't hurt. Perhaps it would help narrow it down if we knew what nationality he was. He's not Muslim, but he could still be Arabic.
Was he Arabic?

I only wasn't giving hints coz' Gillipig said he'd crack this one.

He's not Arabic per se; the classical Arabic language was only recognized in the 6th century CE (around the birth of Islam)*.
But as that question was divergent from the track you were on I won't count it.
Some things you've assumed/deduced that are correct: He was around/died before the common era. He lived in the middle-east (or what is now known as that).
I hope you can make the next question worth-while. Only got three left.
Also please don't 'google'.

If you think you know who it is you can look it up on wikipedia.

Yeh, none of the Darius's. Wasn't gonna needle you for technicalities.
Though at this point, I am afraid you are using up the '"collective's" last questions.

Eh, it doesn't look like anybody else is on. May as well try one more. I'm assuming it's a Persian King, although I can't be sure of that. But you said he was a political figure and was known for his military actions, so I'm pretty sure it's one of the kings.
I guess I can only go with the one that is probably most popular thanks to that one movie with the loud guy who kicks that dude into that pit...
Is he Xerxes I?

Is he Xerxes I?
Yes it is. Well done.
When I said 'that's one of the things he is known for' I was referring to
1.
Ahasuerus in "The Book of Esther" in which he ruled from "Hodu to Kish" translated as "Greece (marathon) to India" - Most of the known world.
2."that one movie with the loud guy who kicks that dude into that pit..." LOL (which I haven't actually seen as such)
May I draw your attention to
this map by [player]Campin_Killer[/player].

That map is what made me ask the question "Was he Persian?". I thought of Xerxes, but I wanted to get the two other most well known (as far as I know) kings out of the way first. It's a cool looking map.
But ok, I've thought of somebody. Ask away.

Wow you got it on the last question!! I don't think we've eVer asked as many is it "insert persons name" questions. Might be why we didn't crack it earlier. But it was also a hard choice of character. Well done on guessing Xerxes I.

Cool how that worked out with the map. I saw the map after.
Yeh, I did the same thing before. I was thinking of G.Patton but wanted to get G.Washington out of the way.
It's what made me think of doing a less known person. Though now I realize it can be a bit of a pain, but great for learning.
