UPDATE 20 (with XML)

Below the latest development of the map
BeNeLux.
UPDATE 20 (with XML)
Larger map :
(600x550)
(Click to reduce to mapsize 500x458)
Some suggestions that were mentioned:
- Countries lighter then armynumbers.
- XML mapsize 500x458 (Click on the map).
- New XML larger map.
Are the armynumbers oké without the armycircles/shadows?
My opinion is that this map can go on without the armycircles/shadows.
Note: "Attack arrows" over the Monarchy borders are gone. You can vote which one you think better. See first Topic or page 17.
So let us know what U think about the map
BeNeLux so far.

I don't think it needs shadows. A lot of the territories are quite small and shadows tend to make things even more crowded. I can only suggest trying to get an image where you have matching number colours to continent colours so a fair comparison can be made. For example, those yellow 20's in Vlaanderen might be too hard to read for some.

I don't know. I kind of liked the army shadows. The problem is that Blue on Zuid Nederland and Yellow on Vlaanderen for example are not very clear as the colours of the numbers are similar to the backgrounds.
A suggestion...maybe you can do something different instead of the rounded army shadows like shields or some kind of plain coat of arms and place the numbers on them?

Look at the Continent Legend for you're answer.
Ok i look at legend and its sems that monarchy borders are non crosing borders. You must change something becouse you have 3 country(Belgiym-Netherland and luxemburg)who can not atack each other.

I have no idea what you mean qwert, but if you are still confused about the monarchy borders, the way I understand it is that Marval is waiting to see the results of the current poll to decide which arrows he will use to cross the borders.
As for the map, I think I prefer it without the shadows. The colours I have most problems with is yellow on white.

Teya explanation is correct.
If yellow on white isn't looking good for you I understand. But there is less what I can do with it. Because I can't make white lighter or darker.
I'm working on a idea for the numbers.

I know you cant do anything about yellow on white. Besides, I think its jsut my crappy eyes. If I look close enough I see it is yellow.

move the numbers in the sea near white over closer to the territory more.

BeNeLux.
UPDATE 21 (with XML)
Larger map :
(600x550)

Some suggestions that were mentioned about XML:
- Better position of the armynumbers.
- The armynumbers in the sea closer to the countries.
- Full countrynames in map, but shorter in XML.
- No armycircles, because some ccontinents are quite small and shadows tend to make things even more crowded.
- Other backgrounds/textures of some continents, so the armynumbers will be better to see.
Note: "Attack arrows" over the Monarchy borders are gone. You can vote which one you think better. See first Topic or page 17.

Yes, there will definitely be a problem with that. Honestly I think you need some kind of army shadows because the numbers are not very clear on the backgrounds.

Have men played the Classic map. The blue armies are in Europe less better to see, then in this map.
But next update I will add blue armies on Zuid-Nederland.

If the foundry still used the standards that were used back in the days when the Classic map was created our maps would have been quenched some two months ago mate!

Yeah, you're right, I think...
I see that most people want curved attackarrows over the Monarchies.
So, I will place them and I shall soon pm Andy to drop this poll.
Just have patience.
