I actually wanted to go with this:

But when I was looking it up I became aware of just how obscure that might be. So I guess i'll go with this next one, and a noprize for anyone recognizing the first one.

You are correct. Surprised it didn't take longer. Pretty obscure rifle.

HINT: Not a marlin model 60

:) Thanks, but it looks distinctly Finnish to me. I don't even want to think about how much it cost to fill a ten round clip.

Alright, so it wasn't a belief, it was more of a certainty . This is interesting, it's not the M1944, and that very image is the first hit on google image for the 41.

Well it is the 1944. The 41 was Johnsons design to compete against the BAR and was it's own beast. The 1944 is a clip fed squad light machine gun.

google miscued if you can believe that. And thats cheating. Find it without google imaging.

This is the 41

No. Google didn't miscue. It's the '41. That's the M1941 semi auto rifle that unsuccessfully competed with the M1 Garand. Your original pic is the one that went up against the BAR, and the '44 was a slight refinement of the '41 LMG mostly and briefly used by the Israeli's, being retooled into the Dror, that looks like this:

Note the stock, mono pod, and forearm.

Also, I don't see how that would be cheating (how exactly is it you think I did?), especially as it was kinda necessary since you didn't know what you were talking about... :|

There was no way that '41 that you posted was an LMG, jefjef. Repost your toy pistol, Khiva!

No kiva is right. I intended to post the 44 lmg variant and I posted the 41 lmg. The 41 rifle was what i thought he referred to when I glanced at it. Jesus lets all have fight. Sorry bout the mistake.
