You seem to be bashing only the conservatives, but I'm sure there are gullible people on both sides. Don't you agree?

I don't use a cell phone, but it has nothing to do with liberality. I just frankly hate the idea behind a cell phone so I only have one in the car with me in case of emergency, and only that because my wife requires it of me.

No, this absolutely makes you a pure liberal... :P (sorry, could not resist....)
Seriously, I probably should have said "don't use phones". Aka there still are a few people truly living out in the woods, on small communes, etc. Most have long since returned to "civilization" or folded, however. And not all those embracing that lifestyle are liberal, either. In fact, its possible (though I have no way of knowing) that non-liberals are more likely to go "off the grid", off phones, etc, than liberals nowadays. But... that gets off topic

Oh, I probably should have added to the liberal bit "don't vote, just hold hands in a circle and chant to save the world". But, maybe that could be considered a tad too derogatory.

That article is absolutely retarded. I don't believe I wasted my time reading that nonsensical contradictory drivel. I don't know what's worse, that some loser is paid to write that garbage, or that people buy it as a legitimate criticism.

Attacking Obama as destroying America, insinuating anything that disagrees with the far right agenda is socialism are standard tactics now and a lot of people in this country and CC are just stupid enough to believe the garbage is real.

Criticism is fine, but this is a return to a clean up form of Macarthyism. Perhaps more dangerous because its not quite to blatent.

From the article (and apologies to Aradhus for stealing his reply space):

Over the past five months, the Republican presidential candidates participated in 13 debates where they fielded dozens of penetrating questions on every major issue facing the nation, and some not so major.

The nationally televised and/or Internet-streamed forums each drew an average of 5 million to 6 million viewers, along with breathless wall-to-wall coverage, commentary and criticism from the news media, radio and TV talk shows, Internet blogs and partisan websites.

Indeed, the GOP hopefuls have been thoroughly queried on a laundry list of issues ranging from immigration problems to the faltering economy, Iran’s nuclear program to trade deficits with China, the intricacies of climate change to strategies to combat terrorism, exploding government regulations to skyrocketing public debt, plus some uncomfortable questions about their pasts and their personal lives.

This just seems odd as a statement. The debates were pretty softball, and while tough questions were occasionally asked, the answers were pretty poor. One can always expect something substantive from Ron Paul, but do you really have any strong sense of what a Bachmann administration's policy position with regard to China would be? Or what Perry would change if he came to power and was faced with terrorism? How would Santorum deal with the mounting evidence of climate change?

Gingrich couldn't even organise himself on to the ballot of his home state. When questioned about that, he declared that he'd organise a campaign for write-in votes, apparently unaware that Virginia doesn't allow write-in votes.

It's all softball stuff. Compare the birtherism faced by Obama, or the swiftboating of Kerry, or the impeachment calls against Clinton. The Republicans have an easy ride in comparison.

I agree with Symm (perish the thought). The way "debates" are run in the political process is not conducive to actual debate or actually getting to know the politicians policies. At the same time, I also agree with Nobunaga in that the president is not asked tough questions at all. In sum, it does not appear the media, in its current form, is prepared to or willing to ask tough questions and get good answers (but is that our fault as viewers?).

Shocking stuff, but you've never been purely conservative in the sense of American politics, and I'm all over the place. Eventually I'd say something we can agree on.

But yeah- if you get a chance take a look at Prime Minister's Question time in the British Parliament. I'm not going to weigh down on it being the best system- it's really messy, but it is a regular session where hard questions are asked of the guy in charge.

What type of agenda would you hope that a Republican candidate have regarding China? What is Obama's plan for China? He's been the president and we have no idea what his China agenda is after 2 1/2 years.

Symmetry wrote:It's all softball stuff. Compare the birtherism faced by Obama, or the swiftboating of Kerry, or the impeachment calls against Clinton. The Republicans have an easy ride in comparison.

Bush easily faced more hate and disdain than any president in history. Your easy ride call is bologna.

And if you want to talk about easy rides from the media; the media gave Obama a pass on every issue in the 08 General Election. Worse than that, they covered up his immigration status, his loyalty to a racist church and his communist roots.

Furthermore, the media tried to focus on Palin's so-called lack of experience even though she was the VP candidate on the ticket and Obama, the presidential candidate on the other ticket had less experience than she did. That was the most pathetic display of journalism I've ever seen. It shows how much they now rely on the actual stupidity of Americans. That never would have been a talking point even 30 years ago.

And btw, the swift-boating was mainly PAC commercials. It was hardly a point of emphasis by the media.

To the point. Yes, Fox News is biased towards the right. But that is the only visual main stream outlet with that bias. Everything else is left and often far left.
