I am new to this thread, and I'm sorry if this has been brought up already.. too many pages to read through. The instructions for pawn movement say go forward two if "both are empty," which of course is not the actual rules for pawn movement. You have cleverly made the map so the only pawns that can move forward two are in rows 2 and 7, thus avoiding this problem. Still, there is part of me that is really bothered by this. Just my 2 cents.

Hopefully nobody tries to play real chess using these rules...
It's the best I could do with the available space.

Upload the XML somewhere and Load it in the XML Wizard tool, you need to correct a few things there...

Have you run it through the sites XML checker - that will guarantee that the pixels are in the right positions.

Looked through-out the map drafts and comments and I have to say: I think this may be one of the best maps coming through-out the foundry lately! I like the concepts and the gameplay seems to be well-thought, so kudos to you.

It works for Alcatraz on the SFB map because it is at least marked with one way arrows all going in--and thus the user will know what is going on. The user may be unaware in this case, as there are no helpful markings---and may simply think it is a bug or broken.

The best solution I can see is to move the black bishop to G4 and the white pawn to H4. I'll work on that. Any other ideas?

I am getting dumb errors. Two of them are:
Error: Territory H6 Black Pawn has border H5 Light Square which does not exist as a territory
Error: Territory H5 Light Square has border H6 Black Pawn which does not exist as a territory
...which is dumb and wrong. Maybe something is in my cache or whatever. Can someone else upload this code and see if they get the errors?

EDIT: Damn it's whitespace. Hold on...

The question about the pawn brought up another question for clarification for me: the long range-pieces can one-way attack any of the squares it reaches right? For example, the black bishop on G4 borders F3, F5, H5, and F5, and can one-way attack E2, D1, and E6?

Nice work, I am really interested in this map.
I have seen the thread the first time, so I am sorry if I should repeat this points.
I think the king as the most important figure should have a higher autodeploy than the other figures.
And I think it is really complicated that you have to conquer two squares before you can conquer an adjacent figure of the same colour adn it's easier to get an opposing figure on the other side of the board.

even thought you might say it is worth the most from earlier posts in the thread the author intended it to be most like normal chess with a few adjustments. In normal chess even though the king is the most important it is worth zero in value b/c it cannot be captured and has many restrictions on movement. The pawn value =1. Knight and Bishop=3 the Rooks =5 and the Queen =9.This is most likely why the king has a lower autodeploy. as for your second issue I'll let someone else reply.. Hope that satisfies your wondering
