the railroad tracks are indeed a bit too flashy

also, just insert the "G" between Malmo and Kopenhagen (I use the full names, sue me)

yes i think i will tone down the colours somewhat...

also if you put the G between those two, you would still cover the "g" with the triple digit armies....dim is correct,,,they need to go on top of each other.

Great work Cairns!!

I just read thru the whole thread, and I'm a bit unclear on three things:

1) How does MLO/CPH work? It looks like there's only one line into/out of this station pair - do I play this as though there were a line between them?

2) LAU is confusing as well, there's only one spot each for C/D and J/K. Does one army occupy both lines?

3) KLN has three lines, but only one army spot. This station controls 3 lines?

Funny thing, I had no problem understanding that you couldn't attack from one platform across the rails to another platform (like @ BUD), but these three are throwing me...

A couple of other items:

4) KLN, VEN, FLN & SOF don't have line letters.

5) BRU & KLN look like they've got the same color lines running through them, but they're in different orders, is that correct? Also, the colors thru 'BRU' don't seem to match the line colors 'B', 'O' & 'H'. Maybe it's just their proximity & my eyes.

6) Could you make the station arches a rainbow of colors (like Trivial Pursuit wedgies) representing the lines that run through that station? You'd mentioned something about a 'stained glass' look in an earlier post.

7) GLW, EDB & LVP don't have pink behind the line label 'A'.

8 ) All the rail lines are missing. (j/k! :))

yes cph is in denmark, mlo is across the water in sweden....assume there is a line between them.

2) LAU is confusing as well, there's only one spot each for C/D and J/K. Does one army occupy both lines?
yes

yes

they are like Lamar in Rail USA.

A couple of other items:

4) KLN, VEN, FLN & SOF don't have line letters.

1. no space
2. all lines are controlled by one station, for gameplay.

5) BRU & KLN look like they've got the same color lines running through them, but they're in different orders, is that correct? Also, the colors thru 'BRU' don't seem to match the line colors 'B', 'O' & 'H'. Maybe it's just their proximity & my eyes.

They should all be the diferent, i'll look into that.

6) Could you make the station arches a rainbow of colors (like Trivial Pursuit wedgies) representing the lines that run through that station? You'd mentioned something about a 'stained glass' look in an earlier post.

No, that would add even more colour and i am trying to reduce the amount of colour somewhat, i find it very confusing as there are 15 different line colours.

7) GLW, EDB & LVP don't have pink behind the line label 'A'.

Kewl, thanks, will fix.

8 ) All the rail lines are missing. (j/k! :))

yes i deliberately left them out for these posts, but they will be put back in.

Works for me

Guess the j/k wasn't quite obvious enough there - I guess you're busy. :)

Keep up the great work!

My friend Google doesn't seem to know what Rail USA is, nor do I. (I assume you're not gaming Amtrak - the first result)

Im very much glad that you have brought this one back cairns :)

As always your graphics are presentable, although the single sea route you have doesnt fit the map at all but thats my only concern for now.

Thanks Gimil. the sea route is a legit part of Scan Rail that use a ferry link to Helsinki, that's why it is there to create that link. Unfortunately i can't remember if there is rail line all the way up north in Finland that links all the way around the coast, and certainly it wouldn't fit on the map.
So that's the best possible practical solution without removing that link.

I've put the old coloured rail lines back into the map, but I hope WM will be able to change these for me when i contact him.

OK this version fixes these centering issues with armies on the small version.

WM...thanks you for putting in an appearance again on this map.
I tried to contact you via PM for several days last week to invite you to a game of Waterloo, but obviously you were busy with real life.

Anyway....as you can see there are some colour changes (yet again), basically because the reqest for the line names to be simplified and give assistance to the colour blind, has left a brilliant display of colour happening, and that needed to be toned down.

So the (changed) new colours for the lines are as below:

A. FE63A5
B. 008800
C. BBFCFF
D. FFFF00
E. FFB08A
F. Same
G. Same
H. B0FE96
I. AA5555
J. FE5652
K. Same
L. Same
M. 336666
N. Same
O. CC99CC
P. 027AA8

There is no rush as i know you have several other projects on....and i still have to re-size everything for the large version yet. Please don't put yourself out.
Appreciative as always.

Oh and there needs to be two small adjustments to the lines made:
1. Trenitalia needs to run FLN to VEN (somehow)
2. Malmo station (Scan Rail) has moved so those lines will need an extension or adjustment there, thanks.

This is slightly related so I thought I'd quote this.

What about the four stations with multiple paths? I'm not saying they definitely should have all the letters on them, but I think it warrants discussion.

Everyone station except these four have the letters. Obviously players will see this as significant and hopefully will pay more attention, but is it too much to ask for them to figure out what rails these stations all represent?

Sorry I don't quite remember how the stations will appear in the XML, but can this be counted on? Probably it should be visually quite clear. I'm not saying it's not clear but obviously I wouldn't be posting this if I didn't feel this could confuse a good amount of people.

BTW, the stations I'm talking about are

KLN
VEN
FLN
SOF
