A agree with Pious here. Since going from Oceania to Asia is extremely hard due to the number of territories involved a higher bonus makes sense. In this having a +2 would be overpowered as you could take red hold it for a couple turns and then suddenly grab green and one orange and hold a +7 combined bonus for 2 defending spots. It is significantly harder to do this with a +1 bonus

How should the squares be labelled?

The color and a letter. 66% [ 12 ]
The color and the square's number in the puzzle's answer. 22% [ 4 ]
The color and a separate numbering sequence. 11% [ 2 ]
Other (please specify in a post or this vote doesn't count). 0% [ 0 ]

I think the results are clear. How does one remove a poll? Does a mod have to do so? Once the poll's down (if possible) I'll work on the new version.

Has this ever been attempted before? It seems like it would make a good map theres a lot of buildings and areas that could be used for continents and territories

i think that the light green and the teal are kinda hard to tell apart right now maybe make the green a little bit darker

You can attack diagonally. This makes the map very open besides the areas where numbers block, which I think is unique except in maybe Chinese Checkers.

You would still have to hold three places b/c of blue being able to attack diagonally. You would then have the top orange territory and the two right teal territories.

South Asia

I think it would be a nice idea for a S. Asia map, with Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh & Bhutan... would make for a very nice play.

I'm coming up with a very very basic image of probable regions and territories.

However, I have no clue about how to create & code such a map. Could anyone help me? thanks & cheers

What about an Oceania Map? Or a southeast asia map? all thsoe islands might be confusing or interesting

New version out!

Changes:
    Letters added to label each square now that the poll's done.
    Key adjusted to increase bonus for hard-to-hold middle areas.
    Green area made more green to distinguish from bottom teal area.
    Space made for special rules in the right key area.
I think it's almost ready to leave the Map Ideas forum.

Now that it's labelled, a territory will take the name of its color and letter. For example, the one in the upper left will be "Red A"

Now that I look at it I agree that the top center square and the bottom center square look too close.

I would go for darkening the green area to make it fully clear when people are looking at it.

I would swap the colors on the middle left and middle right boxes. I like the colors, but they run with the two respective colors beneath them. Swapping would make them more distinct.

Yea, although not that I think about it you don't want to go too dark and interfere with the the green players color in games.

I proberbly couldnt do much for you as i have a map going atm but i could try and get you one that looks less crowded (mabye using different textures for political instead of stripes?)

Darkage Britain

Description Different from uk map as you can split it into the major kingdoms of darkage britain, Mercia, Lindissi, Wessex, Ceint ect

You could also make it more interesting by having sea territories which can only attack and be attacked by territories with ports (placed in strategic locations around the map) this would mean you could add in scandinavia and francland so you get the vikong and norman invasions

Are the ports strictly necessary? This map seems cluttered enough as it is.
