Yes, he does and did.
Not only in human beings, but all across the animal kingdom, and I don't mean just species that are hermaphroditic, etc. I mean that cows, sheep and other animals have occasional homosexuals. Ask any farmer.

You need to look at the real biology. What you are expressing is believed by a narrow group of religious individuals.

not sure what you mean by real biology, if you mean some people may be attracted to the same gender, i know, but that doesn't mean you have to jump on everyone of the same gender just because you're gay. and animals are just animals.

Who created that initial attraction? How did it come about? And are you sure you can "just choose" to whom you fall in love?

Also, why harp on homosexuals and not heterosexuals who are far from monogamous? You seem to want to pilliar homosexuals for promiscuity, why not put heterosexuals to that same standards?

Because if we don't do something to this decay of moral values, homosexuals will run us all over with a big gay steamroller!

In my experience very few theists will argue with other theists in this type of forum, perhaps seeing atheism as the greatest problem. So hats off to you Player,we disagree about a lot of things but you are at least even handed.

True, but nothing elightening. It is, in fact, "countering" a strawman fallacy put up by non-religious individuals to mostly counter religion.

Religion and science need not be in opposition, at all. Religion is fundamentally about belief, answers that do not have observable, in modern vernacular "scientific" answers. Science is about discerning truth based on observation, proof independent of belief. So, religion will OF COURSE, come up with answers that science cannot. Sometimes those answers prove wrong (let me clarify, I mean our understanding of the religious belief, becuase humans err.) In virtually all cases, you have religious individuals with varied ideas on these questions. Then science steps in and the religious question moves on to something else (though of course some stubborn people will resist the change.. but that type of blindness happens within science as well as religion).

Such statements really just attempt to claim superiority where there is truly just difference. Not understanding that difference leads one to grave errors.

Frankly, when the religious push their claims as science, such statements of distinguishment need to be made. I consider them to be important statements. Even though those they are aimed at will largely ignore them, the youth who aren't yet set in their ways will at least pay attention to them.

I can see that, absolutely. But I don't at all believe it changes the truth of the point I made. The younger folks are more likely to "buy in initially" to the church and are also more likely to question the church as well.

Also, you're right that younger people are not as set in their ways as older people. But that means younger people are also easier to manipulate, lacking the life experience to put things in context... and if those young people are denied proper education and information, they are easily indoctrinated to accept a belief system without questioning.

If however those younger people are taught to think critically from a young age, then they are much less likely to accept indoctrination or dogma, at young or old age.

the funny part is that i looked at the image address

http://freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/ ... rsion.jpeg

and assumed that it was the age when people converted to atheism.

it works both ways you know.

It's really not part of the atheist belief system to prosetylize, however. Yes, there are certainly some few atheists that do (much to my chagrin), but by and large it does not happen. That cannot be said of most religious folks, because that's what they're SUPPOSED to do.

True.

People should also stay theological noncognitivists.

@ the graph
Unless you think most atheists are being taught by their parents to be atheist, then the conversion age should be higher. Kinds doubt 5 year olds are rebelling against their parents teachings.
On the other hand, I have no idea if most atheists were brought up religious or not, so maybe you're right.
