Well, I might have listed myself as a first contact, yeah. That is not a problem and I doubt CoF is blaming you for that sole purpose. Rather for being too aggressive when we are trying to play it normal.
Yes, other CC matches started before because both clans were ready. We were not ready - I admit it. It's not a pure delay tactic - we really worked out the whole challenge and browsed tons of your games and previous wars. We did our homework for 2 weeks because we were given 2 weeks. We delayed our games till the last moment because, really we had 2 more wars going on (even if they were wins for us - we can't just throw away rest of the games - we don't do that). Also we had really busy schedule, I mean you might find this as a lame excuse - but sorry, we have no other to provide to be honest.
I can also say that we joined all the games in a last moment to prevent you from playing first in fog games, not to play it first ourselves. We usually discuss the move with teammates and we spend more then 12h to do so. Your behavior in this thread and PMs kind of pushed us to conclude that you will abuse every little thing in this challenge. So it was more kind of a protection measure.
Sorry about foe problem - but I think you will agree that no one expected that and everyone was off foe list for this challenge. If you want to argue about that incident - we can ask Chuuuuck to use his powerful tools and judge this problem. We will bid to his words because he is a host.
PS - CoF used red letters because he doesn't know how to multi-quote a message and he just highlighted his words between yours so it was easy to read. He could have italicized them or made bold - I bet you would provide the same argument anyway.

I took his pm as critical. Plus, he basically called me a liar earlier. I am over it.

I appreciate honesty. No worries on this point.

We have been discussing this tactic for a while in this thread. This is the first time anyone in your clan intimated that the reason for not joining was anything but a tactic to see the board first and exploit it. We just did what we thought your clan was doing based on the content of this thread. I do not appreciate the implication that we are "abusing" something. We have done nothing against the rules, and neither have you.

No worries. The game started 30 minutes later than it was supposed to. We don't think this should be an issue at all.

Do you want to dishonest us in front of CC community? I mean, really, what is the purpose besides having almighty fun yourself?
Look. I never wanted to blame anyone for anything. But you were listed as first contact (maybe in your first draft) in the main thread. When I sent the games out, CoF had a fit over where they went and blamed me for having it wrong...which he has done again in the red letters.
Every other Conqueror's Cup match started way before ours because of your clan's delay tactics. There was nothing wrong or dishonest about what you guys did...just admit that is what you were doing. Joining last gives you an advantage in fog games...so just admit it! Don't blame busy schedules, etc. on the tactic...because that is what it is...a tactic. Afterall, if schedules were an issue, you certainly wouldn't be waiting until 1:00 am Eastern time to join games!
Oh, and don't use your super MOD powers on me...I like my premium.

Thanks.
I didn't have a fit over anything - I asked you very civilly if you'd send me a copy of the PM you sent to Dako with your game info which you did. You then threw your toys out of the pram all because of a password with spaces in it when you received our game info.
Chariot of Fire wrote:chemefreak wrote:CoF:
Your games are not in the agreed upon format. Additionally, a password with spaces in it? Fucking amateurs. We sent our games to Dako and Chuuuuck about an hour ago.
What the heck's eating you? What agreed upon format are you referring to? I thought you'd appreciate the info in the PM - listing maps, settings etc and with clickable game numbers. And what's wrong with a password with spaces in it? What difference does it make? There's no need to be so abusive.
Would you be so kind as to send your game details to me then please? I'm listed as the primary contact in the tourney thread. Thanks.
CoF
'Would you be so kind"....."please".....hardly a 'fit' don't you think, especially compared to the message you sent.
And then later, when asking that Iron Maid be unfoed I wrote in a PM:
Guys,
All games have been joined by our side with one exception:
Game 6966957
Iron Maid is unable to join this game because he is on LFAW's foe list.
Please have him 'unfoed' asap to prevent further delay. Thanks
CoF
Again, polite and civil. What do you do? Throw it back in my face and ridicule TOFU for being the party responsible for the late start of our challenge when it's clear to all parties the delay has been caused by a knock-on effect of the preliminary fixture BFM vs EE which was out of our control.
So....you want to know why I'm so angry? Twice having written and kept things on a civilized platform you have twice chosen to throw scorn in response.
PS - CoF used red letters because he doesn't know how to multi-quote a message and he just highlighted his words between yours so it was easy to read. He could have italicized them or made bold - I bet you would provide the same argument anyway.
I know perfectly well how to multi-quote a message. I also know that once there become too many it becomes cumbersome and less legible than a modified version with comments highlighted in a different colour beneath each salient point.

Yeah, I am sorry, CoF knows the forum tools - as I said, it was just to highlight his own words between yours.

Our start with KORT went down to the wire as well, and for a similar reason. We offered to have a 12 hour delay in starting any FOW game (so both sides could see the board) and Masli and Bruce rejected it. I believe it was Chemefreak who posted in our forum that this is war, so there should be no such gentlemanly agreements. Well, we did exactly what TOFU did. We joined all but one member and waited until the zero hour last night to join so we could get our snapshots. We offered a reasonable offer so that such tactics didn't have to be used and delay a start, they denied. It is foolish to not use anything you can to your advantage within the rules. If you didn't like their patience in joining games, you should have compromised. Remember the old maxim: You catch more flies with honey.

Actually that was me... Its War not Love

And I do believe that if you can take an advantage on a foggy board then why not... It was not discussed here, maybe I would have changed my mind if proposed, but being that it was not...As an outsider I say take any advantage you can get.. We ALL want bragging rights and we ALL want to win...Being a good sport in the meantime.
As for all the previous fuss...I hope its just the want to kick each other's asses in the war as opposed to anything truly personal..
With that being said, I'm sure both sides are thinking the same...
OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!
and the loser will have to swallow a lot of words

I believe that CoF and I have buried the hatchet on any personal animosity. We were just having fun. We both enjoy a great war of words, and CoF has definitely been a worthy opponent. Now, does this means we are holding hands or taking moonlight walks on the beach? Not until this war is over
So for now, kick the shit out of them Legionnaires.
WOO GOO!!!!

Maybe you two should play a dubs game together on the same team just as Lubawski and Bruce did from KORT... mutual love fest...

Do you think I would waste all that money on roses for CoF?

I just put some rose smelling spray on that bouquet...he didn't know the difference.

You're right. When I closed my eyes and took a breath I was convinced I was back with your grandmother.

Be a great plot for a novel. Grandfather and grandson unwittingly meet on opposite sides of the battlefield, only for the truth to be revealed when the grandfather's stricken body is denuded of valuables and the locket around his neck reveals the portrait of the young soldier's grandmother.
Somewhere in Time meets The Terminator (with roses and a bit of nipple)

Heinlein riffed on the concept in "Time Enough for Love", but since it was late-career Heinlein the whole thing was kinda gross.

Surprised they haven't had a crack at adapting that Heinlein. The idea's been mooted
