Our son is at 29 Palms and he was telling us the heat has been as high as 113 F...80's at night...

Just last week or so I was freezing at night, went as far as taping up the cooler to keep out the cold with the lows in the 40's and highs from 59 to 70ish. I think the dry heat makes it like the desert in more ways than just dryness. It increases the temperature change between day and night.

And of course it was right when I'd just started my rice seed, which need heat, not to mention all the cuttings of Cuban oregano, Mexican sunflowers, (Yeah, woody cuttings. These are freakin shrubs!) and all these other things like Peruvian pillar cactus seed that all need heat. And I was trying to get both the dogs to lay up against me to keep me warm. Must be getting old.

Things are still pretty open, so whether you want to contribute to the construction project or help as a teacher once it's running, I need to hear from you.

Nor sure what you are looking at ... but we currently only have 26 players on the ladder.

I dont understand what are DIBS nor what is the shortcut about. Can someone explain? It is not explained in the rules.

I have dibs. It is listed on the Ladder spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet is a link on the first page of this forum which shows the standings, won/loss records, etc. Dibs means that I can challenge the top of the ladder when his current challenge ends. I can only call dibs if I am within 5 spaces of the top of the ladder.

I don't know where shortcut was mentioned or what it refers to.
