The Classic map has the exact same gameplay as the original risk map, and there are some similar geographical maps too. As a whole I'd call risk with a twist. How would you say it's not a risk site? The asylum wrote:Having googled risk online this site came first out of the search. It's not very much of a risk site however. Yes there are alot of good looking maps which are basically risk maps, but when looking to join a game there seems to be only games containing maps that have no resemblance to risk on offer. And settings that seem rather pointless to your average risk player.
I joined and thought it was a waste of time and had been misguided, but due to me having a little time on my hands I I thought I'd have another look. Having read the last few pages of this thread I can understand why there are alot of newcomers that don't stay. It's not really what it says on the tin!!

Advertising has been an ongoing request for quite some time.sm8900 wrote:I just met an indie game developer at an expo, who had invented yet another Flash game version of Risk. I asked him how he likes this site, and he said he had never heard of it. is there anything we can do to at least publicize and promote ourselves more at least with other RIsk enthusiasts who are into online gaming? thanks.

They hadn't been doing it because the retention ratio of people who came wasn't high enough to warrant spending the monies, but I believe recently that changed and its back to being advertised. At what level though, I dont know.iAmCaffeine wrote:Advertising has been an ongoing request for quite some time.sm8900 wrote:I just met an indie game developer at an expo, who had invented yet another Flash game version of Risk. ------I said before....Conquer Club could sell ads on maps. Like Snickers or Coke labels on say. The Europe bonus on the Classic Map. Cha-Ching ...and vice versa...iAmCaffeine wrote:Advertising has been an ongoing request for quite some time.sm8900 wrote:I just met an indie game developer at an expo, who had invented yet another Flash game version of Risk. Who is going to pay for an advert on one map out of ~300 on a dying site?ConfederateSS wrote:------I said before....Conquer Club could sell ads on maps. Like Snickers or Coke labels on say. Yeah, it's not like CC is gonna find sponsors out there.iAmCaffeine wrote:Who is going to pay for an advert on one map out of ~300 on a dying site?ConfederateSS wrote:------I said before....Conquer Club could sell ads on maps. When you sign up and find out you have to wait for a whole day to get another turn, you will more likely get frustrated and never come back!
Maybe make the speed games free for the first week for newcomers. Some of them will probably get hooked and stay.
agreed. I'm not a speedplayer myself, but there was a reason why I used to ONLY play freestyle back when I was a freemium newbie. Rapid satisfaction with faster running games.Pirlo wrote:It's been a while since we saw a new map. Also, I still believe speed games need to be free; at lease one or a couple per day. Not true. The borders in Asia are different.iAmCaffeine wrote:The Classic map has the exact same gameplay as the original risk map, and there are some similar geographical maps too. I ended up leaving, myself, then happened to check my e-mail as I was expecting a message from my employer. I was told it was my turn in a game, thus I got back and found myself here. People who do not figure out freestyle, or who are even less patient than I am, would just end up leaving.

Oh, thank you for the warm welcoming. I'd also appreciate it if someone could explain to me the concept of tribes, and what's the difference between them and clans?notyou2 wrote:Welcome back Pirlo.Pirlo wrote:I ended up leaving, myself, then happened to check my e-mail as I was expecting a message from my employer. I thought it was poly games. I may be wrong, but i Thought it was like a weekly or monthly leader board where the tribes win loss was tallied. I didnt get too deep into it, but thats what i got out of it the first little bit I read into it. At first I was kind of interested, but there seems to be little activity going on with it.dakky21 wrote:From what I understand, main difference is that new players (and bad players) can join a team which has no requirements. Older players who are already in clans, their clan is their tribe.
It's incentive to get new players try to play team games I believe.

In the past two month (Jan - Feb) 600-700+ is pretty regular during the day. It dips to 300-500 at evening/night (CC Time). We broke 800 not to long ago (820?)concrete wrote:seen this at bottom of forum page....haven't seen it this high in 3-4 years

wonder if it will ever top 1000 again?
