Congrats, guys. =D>

Say what you will for JR, but his record considering the amount of games he's played to me demonstrates skill more than any sort of hot or cold die. Respect the game even if you don't respect the player.

moz was one of the original modsquad. Tr0y created the predecessor to BOB and was the main add on programmer before yeti and chip. ed has done some cartography, but I'm not sure what the special contribution was.

And JR, is of course, Lord of the Medals (Tolkien's lost book).

EDIT: In reality, JR probably got the medal for maintaining CC's all time top scores, or other similar lists. But if that's so then I think Robinette and Blitz also deserve future medals!

That was MY IDEA, MY Thread, I created that, then passed it to robinette and JR to manage as I was keeping so many other stats and records. I can dig up the old archives or they can just tell you.

its been awhile Blitz, a couple years in fact, but if im not mistaking, I posted on the forum with a 1st attempt to create the top score list that had some errors on it. Yourself and Robin contacted me stating you liked the idea and were already working on it and had a partial list. I recall Robin posting the final draft which I think since than has been deleted by the mods. After she posted the final draft I started to update it once a day which is why you see her posting in this thread on the first page "thank you". Years have gone by but I think this was the chain of events. Either way, we all had the same idea and were working on it at the same time. This is something Lackattack can automate if he wishes. Nobody has time to moniter a scoreboard 24/7 without missing a score here and there.

Blitz would be at the top of my list. Not sure if my list means much. He just finished getting his last game achievement medal and has plenty of tourney wins and hosted quite a few himself. He is very active on the forum and got the clan thing going as well. I recall getting interviewed a couple months back and stated that Blitz is probably the most underestimated player on the site. He does alot more for CC than just win games.

Robin on the other hand is inactive in my eyes. Been around for awhile but hasnt played many games or posted much in the forums. Nothing against her personally, I just dont think she has the requirements.

You're thinking of edbeard. edthemaster created clickies, for which he should receive an annual stipend and a weekend with the finest hooker in vegas.

Right you are! edthemaster deserves multiple special contribution medals for that lovely script :D Not to take anything away from edbeard, I knew I should have checked my facts!

For those wanting to know why people got their medals, you can simply go to the recipients profile and look at the reason for the medal ;)

The description for jr's is rather vague. I think the main reason for his medal is the multi hunting. That sort of thing really is a positive contribution to the site.

Seems like they are handed out when people have retired. Does that means JR is retiring? ;)

I just stumbled on this thread... I thought it might go unnoticed for longer...and was possibly hoping it might.

I greatly appreciate the medal, but cant say as I ever expected it.

I am also greatful that JR got his at the same time....I mean...Ive escaped any possible scrutiny here...that I may have otherwise possibly gotten.

If you want the reasoning behind JRs medal...its as Sully said, obviously a combination of many factors.

Probably the biggest, is his absolute devotion to the integrity of the no cheating policies. He has not only single handedly discovered probably more multis than any hunter...but possibly more than some of those.

Further, he has practiced his high standard of anti-cheating to the point of forbidding anyone else from ever taking his turn, or anyone else from even having an account on his computer.

He has also spent many hours with many suggestions, and its safe to say...never once held back his opinion, which given his number of games...is highly valued as one of the most experienced players on CC...whether you agreed with them or disagreed...

On a smaller level...his sheer....how shall I put this....competitive attitude....in its own way has made CC a more competitive atmosphere, and certainly more fun overall....and at the least have given many the goal to try to take some of his points....

He has also contributed in other ways....and some invisible ways...but in the end... really does deserve the special contributions medal.

Personally, I think he and others deserve it more than me.

I suppose I have indeed put some serious time, in trying to make CC fun...and possibly even better...but in all honesty.... ive done this for fun....and in the hopes of having more fun in the future....I could go on with my false modesty here, but will instead take the advice of the sage advice given on a family guy episode: "Oh just take the F***** compliment." :D

Thanks Lack.

Technically speaking...my post isnt as much an acceptance speech as it is a justification for the rocket though. :D

I think Gilligan does as well, perhaps CC could fix this soon.

It probably is not an issue we'll be fixing soon unfortunately, since only a limited number of people have the issue. However, the fix will be a small part, a larger project to come out within the next few months. :)

But once again, congrats. Who will be the next recipients?

Is there a list of the players who have received this award already? If so, where? If not, why?

I would suggest Sully800 and AndyDufresne if they do not already have one, they should. Perhaps JPcloet and Marval next time around, as well as Cairnswk and WidowMakers.

I should get one of these medals. Then if you click on the award details, under this one it would say.

Award Reason:
Being the man!

Though I'm sure the other Team CC Volunteers are honored by your suggestion, as an act of CC Policy we are not giving out Special Contribution Medals to people who are currently on the Team CC Roster. Once people retire, then bananas-a-blazing, but we don't want to pat ourselves on the back too much. ;)
