not if there were lawyers involved, lawyers would demand that the information not be made public.. especially when such a large company as hasbro is involved...

of course this should be common sense...
Why is this common sense? I do not know this, there is no need to speak negatively about someone else asking a question about a matter they don't know about. And nobody even said anything about lawyers anyways.

And also, in agreement with Robinette, an option for a more Risk related deployment stage could be interesting.

you would assume that a multi-million dollar organization would discuss the 'improper' use of their intellectual propery without lawyers?

EDIT: of course i could be wrong, perhaps thats the way business is done in the multinational game and toy industry.. i was just kinda assuming that they would work the same way as any other multi-million dollar company...

I didn't assume anything. I simply asked if lack would let us know...

I think it was a reasonable question lanyards.

Overall, these matters are above us. This is lack's business, and I understand that he doesn't want to (and possibly can't) disclose all sorts of legal information to the general public. This site is a form of global conquest, but we have grown into a very unique game. Tons of features that don't exist in the Hasbro Risk game - Fog of war, team games, freestyle, hundreds of maps, bombardment, one way attacks, territories with no attack routes, conquest maps, assassin, terminator, etc.

In my opinion, Hasbro COULD have developed risk into the type of game that CC has become but instead they let it stagnate. They tried to create unique gameplay in their Godstorm and 22whatever maps, but I think it was a failure. The gameplay options here have certainly made CC it's own creature and for that I am thankful.

I still play tabletop risk now and again, but I really don't enjoy it nearly as much as I used to. Where is autoattack when you need it?

i dont think lack will ever know much about what led him to remove the classic map, lack isnt much for letting us know too much, lol. seems he becomes quieter and quieter as time goes by... hopefully spending time working on fun new updates!! i didnt mean to be condescending in the previous posts. i had always assumed that the reason he never told us why he removed classic had a really good story behind it that we will never know, lol. i dont think he would have removed it without very good reason. but im way to trusting of the 'establishment' in that way. i dont think lack would make bad decisions on behalf of the site. hes always seemed to do us right in the past... let all the other mods be in charge of making the unpopular decisions and such...

We always played that the defender could determine the value of the dice...
So if the attacker had 50 and was attacking 40, the defender could say each die is worth 20...
One good roll like that would change the outcome instantly...
If you were willing to RISK it! :P

can't believe we didn't think of that... whenever we had big stacks "autoing" eachother we just quit playing because it was so boring to throw that many dice :P
