I agree that the boroughs would be the most natural (and thematically interesting) continent divisions. I also think that NYC would be more interesting to have a map of than a country that almost no one here has had much exposure too, since I suspect that just about everyone on the site has at least seen a couple movies set there, if nothing else.
Maybe instead of territory names like North Bronx, Midtown, Central Park etc, all the territories could have cheesy gang names, like the Riverside Rangers, Harlem Knights, Bowery Butchers, etc., and there could be little graphics of train lines on the map or in the background like on the Africa map.
Becasue of previous obligations i cant follow up on a map of new york but i did start a rough draft that is free to anyone who wants to continue work on it..waffles...
I liked all the different bridges/tunnels in the original idea. I know next to nothing about NYC, but I imagine they lend authentic character to the map???

And I am, i just put this up as a rough draft for someone else to finish.. and if you do want to finish it pm me and i will send you the XCF file or something...
literally it took me 5 minutes while waiting on a turn in a real time game... I have no real attachment to this.
Ditto - I know I keep harassing you, Waffles, but I think this will be a cool map...if you're no longer interested in carrying the torch, please let us know.
Waffles map was graphically much more appealing, and had more of a focus on Manhattan. Any New York map should try to make Manhattan very valuable, and in the original map it was one of the less important continents.
