removed mersyside (now 42terr map)
remove all but 1 non named terrs
made berks larger

post draft without scotland and wales
sort out legend and title

Put Merseyside back! You can't offend those scousers! Especially not with liverpool as captial of culture...they'll eat you alive they will.

On a serious note the Scotland/Wales...keep them.

Don't oversimplfy....the biggest thing I dislike about the current UK map is how inacurate it is put merseyside back (the coast looks odd without the Wirral Peninsula) and don't make up your own regions....England has eight regions USE THEM....it'll make it a lot easier on you in the long run....It's accurate and if you set up those regions you'll see that they look pretty good.

I agree that the regions still need work. Yorkshire should be one continent for definite. Doesn't make sense for it to be split. Also I wouldve thought Manchester and Lancashire should go together and maybe Cumbria, Northumberland and Durham would work as a Northern border continent. I'm not sure how people in the South would feel was right for there as I don't know the counties as well as I do in the north (I've lived there all my life) but those would make sense for me.
One last thought would be maybe adding a coastal route, a ferry or something like that, to open the map out a bit. Anyway, good luck with it.

two comments for you cena:

1) taking scotland and wales out of the map gives the impressions that what IS there is water... if you lose the surrounding land, you'll need to do something graphically to make this look less like a real map, and more abstract.

2) when used as a contraction of "it" and "is" the word "it's" needs an apostrohpe. "Its" is a possessive form of "it." That is your grammar lesson for the day gentlemen.

Absolutely keep Scotland and Wales. But remove the borders within them, so there's no question that they're unplayable land.

I agree and you could also have their flags their, set at a certain opacity. Furthermore, if this is going to be the one and only ENGLAND MAP. Lets keeep it true

Leave all the counties as they are. How they really are! Then inside the counties you could have the towns and cities. Own the towns and cities inside and you get a certain bonus amount. what you think?

IE - Norfolk - Biggest towns are Norwich, Kings Lynn, Great Yarmouth and Thetford..

Own the city +1, own all the towns within the county +3

Okay, I'm not an expert at England, but.. On the map, there are some bordered areas with no names on it. Do these areas have too big of names to fit in the small space, or what?

Maybe an inset with the other 'english' places so they don't feel left ie - Northern Ireland, Jersey etc .. or maybe that outside the scope, but it looks like you are trying to be as accurate as possible so maybe something to think about. (attack from London only?)

Other than that, the only thing i could think of is to keep the borders for Wales and Scotland but remove the inner territory borders.

Northern Island is not part of England though. It is British (which it shouldn't be, but let's not go there)....if anything N. Ireland should have been included on the UK map. Further the channel islands are not England either...they are British Territories yes but not English. In fact the only Island around Engalnd that class as England is the Isle of Whight.

okay cena, have we decided on the cints yet? Also its a deff keep wales and scotland in from me. Just make them obvs unplayable

I think keep Scotland and Wales but remove the regions and emblazon them with flags
Keep the unitary authorities in, they are good! For example with Milton Keynes (the one between Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire) just write MK and then somewhere in the sea or something have a code with things like MK = Milton Keynes

The continents don't look right. I know I have said this several times but I really think they are. I don't have proper software so I'll make a quick representation of what I think is right on paint...lol...

That's my suggestion...how most English people would naturally divide the country...except Oxfordshire...I had trouble with that...

If you're looking to merge two counties then you might want to try West and South Yorkshire. South Yorkshire was only created in the 1970's as an administrative borough, most of it it used to be included in West Yorkshire and the rest was city boroughs - Sheffield, Rotherham and a coupl of others I think.
Yorkshire Fact: the three parts of Yorkshire- North, East and West are called the 'ridings', ie, East Riding of Yorkshire, which comes from an old Viking word which meant a third. Therefore there can only be three parts to Yorkshire (According to the Vikings anyway)

With the continents...whilst the diagram two posts up is good...why cause yourself the trouble? If you just say 8 continents/regions then you already have the divide for reference and you can concentrate on the more important things?
