No, you can't take it off or else you won't get it back until they fix it. I don't think it has to do with resizing either, cause I've tried wearing others animated avatars that still work on them, but they don't work for me. So whoever still has an animated or transparent PNG avatar, do not take it off unless you want to risk never getting it back.

Have you read this thread yet ? http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=51941 There's also another link to fix the problem. I haven't had an animated one in some time so- I've never had to deal with the problem.
