Those in power, cement it, for more generations to come.

Which is suspicious to me.

If big oil calls the shots... then how does "going green" get so much play? And how are big-name politicians able to go there?

But Al Gore only started talking about it for reals when he wasn't running anymore. Even though he claims he knew about it way before that.

It seems talking about it in the US is a death-move. In Europe it isn't much of an issue anymore, but talking about it in the US when running for a public job is not very good.

The data itself suggests to me (I'm no climatologist) that global climate change is solor triggered. And that man has affected this change, but not too impossably drastically.

Well, the sooner we start to go the opposite way the better. I mean, alternative fuels are an important thing regardless of climate change since we're running out of fuel anyway. I believe it's just another good reason to start researching other ways for power. (Nuclear power is the most probable alternative to take over at the moment, and it's not bad for the climate change too.)

Even dumber?

You do realise the powers already control tv and have no problem telling you what to do, right? In fact, the doubt by most americans about global climate change (among other things) is directly the consequence of tv telling you what to think or at least nudging you in that direction. Thirty second adds by the candidates shown in Superbowl halftime is basically the worst you can get.

Oh no, in fact, part of the presidential race is focused on who will be better for the worlds climite.

Actually, most everyone out here believes in global climate change as being man-made. And that is because of tv telling them that(F~~ing NBC) I've had arguements were people had almost no idea what I was talking about. It's a stereotype that they don't believe in global climate change, because no one cares enough to drive less or anything...

Not for retard tricks?

My hole point was there was no global warming scam right now, here would be barely any thought about going green. The only reason we are even discussing this topic at all is because of it.

I give that a lot of credit. The World is about to End in 50 YEARS! Is more convincing than The Earth is in a state of decline, we will need to switch eventually!

Global Warming has the the means, motive and opportunity, outright truth has only the motive behind it.

I'm gonna go with global climate change following a pattern eons old, but this time around the increased amount of greenhouse gases put in the air artificially by humans has intensified the warming process, and may lead to a more dramatic cooling later. But I'm no scientist, I just look at a subject long enough and call it as I see it.

Yes, really.

Here are my findings:

Average energy consumption for fleet of aircraft carriers - 1 bazzillion calories

Average energy consumption for Al Gore - 2 bazillion calories

There, I've even stated my source, just like you did.[/quote]

Though I really do not, or pretend, to understand how it is happening, I know it is happening. I cannot ignore the FACT that the polar ice caps have shrunk by 50% over the last thirty years. Any one who cannot see what is staring them in the face is an idiot, no two ways about it.

When speaking of idiots, don't forget to include in that bunch, those that volunteer to be put in a little box because "something" is happening.

Its real and its caused by humans but theres not much we can do about it
its the goverment, car manufactorers, ... that can do stuff about it
rather than telling us to turn the lights off or take the train and shit like that they should make cars, lights that dont damage the envirement

If global warming is caused by humans...how has it happened before humans ever came about?

*Repeating what I said yesterday

"30 years ago people were scared to death of global cooling. It turned out to be nothing.

Climate change has been around since the beginning of time. The earth has gotten hotter and cooler long before humans started spraying their fancy aerosols and hairsprays into the ozone layer.

Al Gore is just using fear tactics to advance his liberal agenda."

Does it matter. By the time the real horrendous climate change occurs, I will be dead. This is a issue for the young. My only suggestion to them is, organize, educate, act. If you don't regardless who is causing the climate change, you will have a miserable existence.

The thing is that while it's a natural thing, we are speeding it up. Global warming is a bad term to use, as it's actually Enhanced Global Warming that is the problem. We have to try to stall it, but we can never really stop it.

QFT.

Look towards the Sun, that is the real culprit. We are entering a cyclical phase of solar flares/heating.

Our recorded history simply started when we were still in an Ice Age. Doesn't mean that an Ice Age is the natural state of the planet, that is only our perspective. The natural temperature of the planet over the last million years would probably be a helluva lot warmer than now, and that is only going back the last million; don't get me started on the last (b)illion years.
