actually quite true... the thing is, its OK to be openly discriminant against said group above, but its EXTREMELY wrong to be so against any other... seriously, when you here someone say "damn black people" you think, that f*cking racist! but if you hear "damn white people" what do you think? nothing... lol

fact of the matter is, if someone wanted to make a clan for all black people (cant say african american, because not everyone here is american...) there would be no problem what so ever... but if someone really wanted to make an all white clan, we have a problem... Like i said i honestly dont care if its made or not, its just a matter of all or nothing...

Guys if I wanted to be racist I would have called it the KKK but I didn't. I even showed in my first post why I was posting it. To oppose the other discriminating clans.

seriously - how would you even enforce the membership qualifications for a white only clan? And why would you want to? this is the internet - the only thing i see is ppl's usernames and avatars - i have no idea if they are black, white, purple with green spots, male, female or other nor do i really care. even if they tell me they are a white 19 year old woman chances are they are lying and they are actually an 800 year old purple alien from the planet Uranus (unlikely but you get my point). I can see the reasoning for having clans for Christians/atheists/Muslims etc. only. It would be a place where people of a certain common belief system can get together and celebrate their common ideals and beliefs without the fear of retribution or condemnation. There is no common thread that would unify a white only clan other than the level of melatonin in one's skin. A person is shaped by the family/community/country that they were raised in - their actual colouring has very little effect on their personality, their ideals or their belief systems. Just because my skin is a certain colour does not mean that I am going to automatically want to be associated with someone of the same colouring. The people I relate to and enjoy talking to are the people who have similar interests and/or ideals as me.
Well i have to go now... it's a long trip back to my home planet... i think i will start my own usergroup here on CC so all you Purple Uranians keep your eye out for the soon to be formed Purple People Eaters clan... I only need eight other Uranians to create the usergroup

well honestly i don't see the point of having a whites only clan but i do feel if someone wanted to make one then why not i mean I'm making a Pagan clan so no one but Pagans can join so whats so wrong about making a white only clan? it has the same principle I'm not letting Christians in and Christians wont let me in theirs whites wont let anyone else in besides whites and any other race wont let another race in but theirs if this would have started with a blacks only clan everyone would have a far different tone about this its just the way people are now I'm not trying to be racist but that's the way it is

exactly if this clan was made i wouldnt even think about joining it Because i dont care about race... my only point was that the freedom to make a clan, no matter how bad of an idea it was is squashed... BUT i was informed that the players past history had a play in it, which i cannot account for, but normally speaking... The freedom to do so should still stand, no?

of course i mean if he has a history then no he shouldn't be able to make a white only clan but i don't really know his history or who else would want to make that kind of clan i mean im Irish and proud of it but im heading over to callouts to make an Irish only clan

A white only clan is perfectly fine if someone wants it.
It's not against the rules, and as long as it follows the rules (no racial epithets) well ok.
This idea of being prescriptive, of being preventative, well it's ridiculous.
Whites, blacks, Asians, Hispanics, etc. are different for many reasons. And I'll even give you none better or worse, but different culturally, socially, etc. Why not have a white only clan?

but white people are boring, why would you want to be in a club with a bunch of guys that want to hang out with a bunch of specifically white guys. i dont think theres a problem ethically, but i do think its a little strange. but then again im a white guy, and ill bet i could throw a dartboard at the scoreboard and the odds are the person i hit is probably a white guy too. i on the otherhand, i totally understand the concept of a german group or a mexican group, or even a female group, you know because we dont wanna hear em talk all about their periods, and whos hung and whos not. and i dont want to see a bunch of people talking in german or in mexican in the regular forum, would clog that shit up. but what the hell are they gonna talk about thats not racist and that only white people are going to be interested? isnt that what the normal forums are typically used for, or that god damned chatterbox?

you raise a good point, first that YES white people are boring but also that, an all white clan would likelly be either racially motivated, or have an underlying rasist background, or even just flat out... this is almost exactly what would happen, but even so, it dosnt take away the right to do so, aye?

Be clearer and more concise

I, on the behalf of the Jesus Freaks & common sense, am certainly backing CC's decision to not grant usergroup status to clans that require a certain race to attain membership. I've been supporting the creation of the Godless Heathens(a clan for atheists) from the get-go, however a clan for a race should not even be compared to a clan for religious groups as there are some sharp contrasts.

One of the largest differences is a person cannot control their skin color, but can control one's beliefs. It is not the white man's fault he's white. Nor is it the oriental man's fault that he's oriental. Therefore why should you create a clan based on uncontrollable factors? A race-oriented clan would attain members based upon luck of the draw, not common ideas, not skill-level, and not even companionship. What is the point?

Another key difference is to protect CC from race battles both in-game and in-forum. Race is a touchy issue, it shouldn't be that way, but reality is that acknowledging race naturally creates conflict, CC has enough conflict already! You would probably point out that there could likely be such conflicts between religious groups. The Godless Heathens have spoken of having clan challenges with the JFC and they pledge that it shall be respectful however I am personally fearful that such matches could turn ugly and am positive that race-oriented clans would turn into hateful battles. It's simply natural, however is not necessary on CC.

Also, a Christian clan, such as the Jesus Freaks(JFC), improves CC's society whereas I believe a race clan would damage the community. A religious-based usergroup allows persons of the same faith to discuss matters that deal with their particular faith outside of the main forums, away from doubters who feel the need to cause a non-stop nuisance. However what will a racist clan talk about? How white guys can't jump nor dance? I'm sorry, but if the only group you can find to join is based upon your skin color, you're a pretty lame individual.
