It has a generator, and some useful buildings built well.

I have never visited it, but my report back, before and after purchase, was from an impeccable source and someone I trust implicitly.

I am not sure about Pineapple with pork, but this could be different cultures calling something the same in a different way or vice versa. I know Pineapple goes well with Ham, but I tend to use cream with Pork as we call it over here in the UK.

I digress.

The thing is, when I sat down with some friends and really tried to approach it as a project with a project management style, I very quickly realised that the whole thing was pretty damned complicated not say overpowering.

A socioligist friend pointed out, that with just 10 people a hierarchy and specialists system should be introduced. More people and the problems accelerate if one is not careful. Then a builder friend pointed out the issues with erecting structures that are well made to last, recylcing issues of waste etc etc. then another friend pointed out the comms issues, and finally a Forces friend chipped in with the defence system should the world come apart....at this point, my mind started shutting down so I grabbed the Port and Cigars.

You're now my second favorite CC pretend friend. IZman is first. I might put on the 'tin foil hat'. I suspect you to be reading my brain waves and pretending to be the coolest guy in my opinion of the world.

So your guy visited it? Cool. I'll ask a bunch of stuff now.

How do you get to it, ie. boat, plane combanation?

How costly was the purchase?

Who governs the territory?

Like many, I try to be cool, while trying manfully to seem that I am not trying.

it was a family member who visited. He got there by plane, boat combo. No chance of air travel all the way. the cost of purchase is immaterial, as is the cost any time one buys what one dearly wants, however, I believe I got a steal.

It is not governed by any major world power, I deliberately eschewed that route, all those Islands tend to be getting developed so are 'on the map' so to speak. it is relatively close to other islands in a group, I leave the basic management and reporting to those 'locals' who keep an eye on it. It costs little to maintain.

Personally I would like to have a decent kitchen facility, dry sleep area and bathing/toilet. Optimaly a good airstrip if I were to be returning to "civilisation".

Enough area to have some cattle and chickens to graize and stay out of the people garden (Garden in the north american sense, a place I grow food). I would invite IZman to set up a brewrey. Perfect.

But that is to ignore the potential need for a defence system.

oh christ. so you're all into that new agey shit, man?

you realise that "transition" and the "white light" you see beckoning you is just the way the mind reacts to the loss of blood or the slowing of the heart.

pilots who go through high-G training report a similar phenomenon when the g-forces draw their blood to their feet, and they pass out. the whole "white light" thing is bullshit. just your mind playing tricks on you -- a mercy, in some ways, that the mind hallucinates about a happy place as you die -- makes the loss of existence easier to take.

so of course you think that transition won't happen if you die in your sleep, are drunk or high or commit suicide...

cause the only people to have told you about the "transition" are the ones who fooled themselves into believing there is one.

You consider Buddhism new agey shit? Buddhism existed 500 years before Christ. Just keep in mind that it doesn't hurt you any to entertain yourself while you are dying. And if people see a white light or tunnel when they die, why is that bullshit? It sounds like it is real to me. Perhaps all of life is but a trick of the mind? That is the underlying metaphysical thought of Buddhism, that everything in existence around you is brought into being by your true mind, which is quite a bit larger than what you think!

Your brain is not your mind, it is a conduit of a hyper consciousness that pervades all existence. Your hyper consciousness (HC) manifests your reality. If you want to move a cup, your HC dematerializes and rematerializes your body and the cup to a point in time and space where you, the brain, want it. It looks like you are moving, but, in effect, you are teleporting particles of energy to other locations. So movement is a lot like the strobe lights on a movie sign. It looks like the lights are moving, but they are actually just turning off while new lights turn on, giving the feeling of movement.

You are connected to this HC whether you choose to believe in it or not. Some call it God, doesn't really matter. Doesn't really matter if you believe in it or not. That's the great thing about the whole system. It is so enveloping of every system that you are a part of that it really doesn't matter if you actually believe it or not, as the Universe will just recycle all your energy back into something else.

But those who have controlled their emotions through guided meditation and have practiced compassion in their lives are able to control the force of their minds up until the point they become totally aware of the HC. They can imprint their last fleeting thoughts of life into the HC and the HC takes this imprint and transfers it back into the Universe according to make up of the thoughts imprinted.

So if your last thoughts are about being drunk, the HC will maybe bring you back as a child in an alcoholic family. What will you choose to think about when you die? It is a very important question. It might upset you to think about it, but when the time comes you will see that DaGip was right on this issue. To keep clarity of mind while you are dying is very important indeed!

You don't have to believe in a god to believe in reincarnation. The Universe is made of energy. You are made of energy as well. Also, your thoughts and emotions are all energy. Energy does not become destroyed, it gets transferred from one state to the next. So what happens with all the energy that makes up your being? Does it just stop? Physics says "no". Your energy dissipates into grander more complex systems, and how that energy feeds back into the system is dependent entirely on your awareness at the time of death.

So don't believe it, I don't care. But why call it bullshit?

Your response had a defensive tone to it and that symbolizes fear to me. Fearing death is natural, we don't want to die. We want to survive. We want to grow and evolve into new consciousness'. Babies are born and they grow into toddlers. Toddlers grow into children and then into teenagers. The teenager grows into an adult and an old man, but is there a stopping point to growth? We call it death, but that is just another step of growth. We leave this body and we acquire another body. A new body and consciousness.

Maybe you are upset that I mentioned giving up drinking alcohol and drugs? I don't care if you do or not, this is just what I choose in my life. And we all eventually will obtain enlightenment, but it all depends on at what rate we do it in. Just like graduating from school. Some people can advance fairly quickly while others have a harder time at it.

Just practice compassion in your life, everything else will fall into place. Without compassion there is no true wisdom...

no, i didn't realize you meant buddhism my bad on that. i shouldn't have made that assumption. a girl i dated recently wouldn't stop going on and on about the "other side" and contacting the dead and so forth. i shouldn't have assumed you held the same ridiculous crystal centered beliefs... based entirely on being fooled by con artists.

but there's no excuse for your straw man argument here, or the further assumptions you pile up. clearly, you're not a very good buddhist.

and you're really reaching too. i'm not afraid of death. there, i said it. now you can't assume i am. unless of course you decide that i'm being defensive. you see, you can assume anything you want here, and will only assume what serves your purposes, if you are of weak and shallow mind. but i don't think you are, i think you were just trying to stir the pot. i've actually died once already. so i know full well how quickly your life can be taken from you. funny thing about me, i don't fear that which i've already faced. the unknown is more scary than the known. which is part of why i've sought out experience, to know. for example: i still don't know what it's like to get shot, and so i expect i'd be a bit frightened of that. but having experienced enough pain, i'm sure i'd be able to equate it to something else i've experienced.

further, i don't do drugs. i've given no indication that i do. i do drink, however.

ps. i do practice compassion in my life, as best as possible (i'm not perfect, of course). but i'm not going to cheapen the good things i do by trumpeting them on an internet forum. i was taught not to announce my good deeds, that it is better to do them secretly, or privately. and even if you knew me in real life, you'd have to know me REALLY well to know all of the charity i practice. it is very important to me that it remains as private as possible. both for my benefit, and the benefit of those receiving it... helps preserve their dignity.

Then I stand corrected, and I was only postulating on why your tone conveyed a certain defensiveness to it, my apologizes. And I was in no way saying that you were void of compassion, we all choose to offer and take compassion all through our lives, and all for different reasons. If all I had in my life was just unkindled compassionate emotions, that would leave no room for growth and would actually mean that I had reached total enlightenment (of which I have not claimed). Believing in reincarnation doesn't mean you have to be a perfect Buddhist. The only perfect Buddhist on record is Buddha himself, and some Buddhist even claim Jesus obtained enlightenment as well.

Being a believer in reincarnation and the teachings of the Buddha does, however, offer us the chance to move on into new consciousness'. One of the key teachings is to be aware of everything that you do and its consequences. That is a form of compassion in itself, and will be carried with you when you die. So, as not a very good Buddhist, I realize this and the consequence of me not obtaining total enlightenment, which is okay with me. I don't mind coming back again and experiencing all the joys and sufferings of life. When you reach total enlightenment, there is no coming back. That's it. You are gone into emptiness, but yet you are everywhere. The cycle of birth, growth, suffering, death, and rebirth is ended; and you have successfully entered into the Hyper Consciousness (or what the Buddhists call Nirvana and other religions call Heaven).

Sorry, for getting off topic here, but in talking about the Apocalypse means that we are talking about great suffering, death, and tragedy; all of which are spiritual issues and I'd thought I would just share some of my beliefs. Sometimes hope isn't all that bad...
