To live after everyone dies, I would first level up my Survival skills to level 7, and then I would cast level 7 TeleSpawn Wal-Mart.
Then I'd just hang out there and use level 5 Create Girlfriend whenever I am bored. level 4 Create Evil Arch Nemesis powers would be fun too.

Check my siggie.

I would first try to find vision glasses or a supply of contact lenses and solution as I cant see too far.
Without them
I would be dead in no time.
Second I would find food and weapons.
Somewhere to call "home"

Defend my supplies and territory as I look for more survival supplies.

Try to meet a few ex-wealthy people as they wont know how to survive in a harsh reality.
Not sure if I would try to repopulate earth with the scum we humans are but I bet that animal instinct would kick in and that my seed would ferment in some lady which btw, will be all hairy and stinky....... lol

I would TRULY enjoy the end of society if it happenned and I would take it day by day.

actually James Herbert published The White Plague in 1982 similar tone to Stephen King's later novel...you might like it

but The Stand is a better novel and movie

But it's not about a virus. But the idea is the same as, say, I am Legend. We kill ourselves.

I think I read that story twice... once in two different english classes.

The first time was pretty good. I love a story that makes me think it's in some fantasy land only to come out at the end that it's on the same planet with the same restrictions as ours.

Indeed, The Stand was probably the best novel that could have been half the size it is that I've ever read! Aren't King novels grand? I complain about the length now, but I'm sure I would be missing out if he didn't have the word vomit condition he has...

The Stand was published in 1978, though. So Stephen King's novel was not LATER.

Well, there's still around 1.5 million people in the US. There's plenty of resources for everyone, the canned food alone would feed you till you get farming up and running properly... does this disease affect livestock and other animals? 'cos otherwise you're going to have trouble with rats and maybe stray dogs.

Everyone has about 200 cars each. I'd have to learn to drive...

You could leave the too cold/hot/wet/dry/tornado-y bits and all live somewhere with a good climate.

Oh, and your poll assumes everyone replying will be male I think. There are people of the other gender in CC aren't there?

Rather than madly breeding a large next generation too large to support until they grow, I'd think assuring that the current younguns grow up healthy and sane despite the disaster would be important, while maintaining a normal birth rate.

You'd probably better make me president in the new world, I'm so sensible.

But you're forgetting one important fact about humans: we are greedy. There will be some survivors that will manipulate others and try to horde all the valuables. The food would run out very fast, and without electricity and a stable government, trying to grow crops would be a challenge. 1.5 million spread through the USA is not a lot of people when you think about it. The first few months would be pure anarchy. I mean, without a government to protect and enforce rules, there will be tons of greedy people raping/pillaging/stealing/murdering without any fear of retribution.

Without people pumping gas, how are those cars going to run?

And only one question assumes that you are male... I just kind of put that in for fun and didn't think it'd be the most popular choice... I'm glad the last option is gaining some momentum.
And... ya..

Gather a few weapons, alot of ammo and other supplies, pack up my books and other stuff and leave. Grab an abandoned older trunk, like say a '77 Dodge Powerwagon, put a CB in it and go looking for a survivors group to join. Hopefully I find a woman and we settle down after awhile.

With no responsibilities left, I'd probably devote my remaining life to trying to build a lightsaber.
And the last option makes no sense, why collect this stuff if no one will look at it anyway? As long as it stays on this planet its just as safe with you as it was where you found it.

that is exactly the justification for Doctor Jones to have the Cross of Cortes.

IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM!

(ps. i cannot fucking wait for Indy 4. i haven't been this excited about a movie coming out since 3:10 to Yuma)

Cleverness such as this is rarely noticed until close proximity.

Zing! I didn't see that coming!
