You accused me of cheating in this thread, so I may as well address it in this thread - it has tarnished it already.

Of course multiple accounts are against the rules of CC - I have never refuted this - in fact I reported myself at the first opportunity.

There are many reasons that multiple accounts are not allowed - more free games - point harvesting etc - however none of these apply to me. After access to my first account was denied to me, there has been no activity on in what-so-ever, and therefore no possibility of any of those "cheating" methods being used.

On the previous page you wrote:

Which to my mind goes much further than just equivalising multiple accounts and cheating. So I shall repeat my request for substantiation - What material benefits may I have achieved by applying knowledge from one account to a new one?

if you gain no benefits-- then why not simply play with your original account?

Rules wrote:Rule #1: No multiple accounts

Multiple accounts are discovered by routine scans and community cheating reports. They are strictly forbidden whether or not they play in the same games. If you suspect certain accounts belong to the same person, please report it following the instructions at the top of the Cheating & Abuse Reports forum.

No multiple accounts means no multiple accounts.
Obviously your wife or girlfriend or whatever was trying to tell you something when "she" "hacked" your account, so why not heed her advise, and actually stay away from the site?

No matter what way you look at it, you've created multiple accounts, and are now playing with the multiple account (even though your other one is un-usable) you're still going to have people saying that you are playing against the rules, because you are, by having created the new account.

Thanks,
-John

To all Benji haters,

What is the difference between starting fresh with a new account (not playing with your old one to help you inflate your own score) and purposely deadbeating in speed games to get your score back to 1000? None, except the deadbeater has more games played and a different win percentage. There is no difference in how score is calculated.

Prankcall's girlfriend started 50 speed games for him when he was not around, and Prank ended up losing 1000+ points and his score went down to about 1000. 1 month later, Prank shot up to Colonel and then Brigadier, and is now one of the top players in this game. Did you guys all try to taint his achievement? No. As a matter of fact, Scott and Prank are buddies/rivals in speed freestyle games. Scott, you didn't have a problem with Prank's climb, did you?

Prank and Benjikat both worked their way back up from scratch, a feat that is difficult to do. It took a lot of work for these players to get back to their original scores before their women messed with their accounts, and it was even a greater accomplishment for them to hit Colonel soon afterwards!

If you do the math, these players would have had HIGHER scores if they had continued to play the same style of games from their original scores. Prank would have shot up to Brigadier quicker in speed freestyle games, and Benji would have discovered Waterloo at a score of 2200 and his score would have been 3200 now instead of 3000. Restarting from a score of 1000 only hurt them.

"Hats" off to these two players. =D> They have overcome tough obstacles to make it to where they are now. If you think that it is easy to make it 500+ pts past your average score by resetting your score to 1000, then you guys would have deadbeated in speed games already.

I can't believe some of you guys aren't giving Benjikat the credit he deserves. Or, rather, I can't believe you guys aren't giving Benjikat the same credit you gave Prank when he hit 3000.

Congrats once again Benjikat - and apologies that this thread was hijacked by a bunch of whiners.

On a side note - Benjikat is behind some of the newer features you now find in BOB... i.e. Snapshots - which is now publically available - so his knowledge of the game has helped us improve BOB so that lesser players have yet more information available.

Didn't even read that pranks account was "highjacked"
You see, what people often overlook is the fact that no one can actually tell if someone is 100% telling the truth on the net, he could have done it himself in order to deadbeat them, and go back down to 1000 points, in order to build back up, I have no way of knowing.
So, I'm stuck taking someones word, oh whom I have not met, so obviously I'm going to be reluctant.
Question everything- it's a good policy. :)

I would have thought that before calling me a cheater you would have read back over the previous threads about my previous departure, me reporting myself etc etc. where you would have read that it is not possible for me to gain access to my original (heck even my wife doesn't have access)

The single material benefit of this account for me is that I get to play CC - which is a big material benefit, but not one that interferes with or compromising the "game space" - i.e. the integrity of CC as an intellectual game.

Very good policy that - indeed you have no way of knowing whether I am telling the truth or not - which is why I have continued to ask what material benefit I have gained, had I done this deliberately myself?

Whilst I might have technically cheated the site (although they did get an extra premium out of it), what has really really got to me is the insinuation that this follows through to cheating in the game space - which I abhor.

I don't know whether you're cheating the site... but I think you are cheating - cheating on your wife with Conquer Club that is!

Bold words, but out of our previous 8 games it is only I who has won from going second :) - and if you think I haven't refined and adjusted my play since then to better counter the different approaches people are starting to take, then you'd also be mistaken :)

As far as my comprehension would serves me right, benji is guilty of an infraction of multiple accounts possession not culpable to cheating but as far as I'm concerned, his reputation remains clean, transparent and above all, intact.

Actually it'd be less than 3200 because the way CC's scores are calculated. It wouldn't be much less, but I just thought I'd point that out.

Also, can someone please fill me in on the story so far? All I remember is Benji's wife messing up his score and then Benji making the new account to announce he was leaving and now he's a colonel and accused of cheating, so what happened in between?

Story is thus (in precis): I found I couldn't stay away (mainly because I had contributed a fair bit to the development of the Waterloo map and was looking forward to playing it too much), so I started using this account to play a few games on that. At no time was I anything but up front about my "multi-ness" and I kinda goaded the hunters into banning me. I was then given the option of upgrading this account (as per the email I quoted a couple of pages back) in order to effectively start again. This has only come to light now because I have managed to achieve a 92% win rate in Waterloo 1v1 fog games (including losing only once when going first in I think about 200 games now), which has propelled me all the way to Colonel .

Thank you for putting it so succinctly :)

This came to light, because you are the 3rd highest ranked multi(be proud of your achievement).I made a little joke about it and it was made into something not so funny. That wasn't my intention at all.
I have said in several posts in the past that I dont agree with the Multi aspect of CC as cheating and I still don't(its a very good ploy to make money).Obviously you could take advantage of having another ID,but in your case you havent.
Maybe they should let ppl change an ID at the end of each year when they are up for renewal.
Anyway...Sorry for the trouble and congrats on exploiting the masses on a particular map.
