My dad's paternal grandfather was one of those decendants.
Still on my dad's side, I had a full blooded Cherokee great, great, great grandmother. Her family had a plantation in either North Carolina or Georgia. The white man wanted the land because gold was found there. The Cherokee nation took it to court to fight for the land and they won their case. President Andrew Jackson refused to uphold the decision and my ancestors were forced to relocate to Indian Territory, (kansas and Oklahoma) on the Trail of Tears. My great great grandmother married a dutchman sometime after arriving in Indian Territory. They had a daughter, my great, great grandmother. She married an Irishman, a Mitchell. They had my great grandmother and she married my English great grandfather above.
My dad's mother is bellieved to be a decendant of a French Immigrant.
My mother's maternal granfather was German (Krigbaum) and her maternal grandmother was a Cherokee. I don't know what my mom's dad's side is.
So that makes me: English, Cherokee, Irish, Dutch, and German. Anything missing is probably more English.
Damn... we could actually be cousins! lol
Part of my family, my mom's side, was relocated on The Trail of Tears too.
My Dad's side became what they called "renegades", moving high into The Appalacians when Jackson started rounding up the Cherokee for transport to Oklahoma.
A side note here about the Trail of Tears... They put them on open-decked boats and used the rivers during the winter and over half of them died of exposure and disease.
Then, following their arrival to Oklahoma, which they were promised would be theirs "as long as the grass grew and sky was blue", the U.S. Government opened Oklahoma to settlers and the Cherokee were once again screwed-over.

My family name is Hunter. My uncle has written a book about the two Hunter clans. I am descended from the Straidairron (sp) clan of the Dublin area. But...the Hunter name was granted as a reward by King Rollo of Norway, to his chief huntsman in the year 896. The huntsman was also granted lands in Scotland, and in Ireland. Dublin was of course, a Viking settlement, and I have many relatives still living in County Cork. In the mid 1800's my great great grandfather immigrated to Ontario Canada, and hired Irish workers to build a town north of what is now Toronto (used to be called York) The town he helped build was named in honour of his workers, and is now 60,000 strong. It is called Orangeville.

I guess I should say that I only know of my family from my mother's side. Most of which is Irish (Joyce Family and Bivens), with a bit of German (Fischer and Laaker families, though not as directly related), and a bit of Native American, but I am not sure of which tribe, because it would have been probably around the early 19th late 18th centuries (goes back about 9 generations on the Native American side). As for my father's side, I honestly don't know, I have never met him, nor anyone from his family, I don't even have a picture of him to have an idea of what physical attributes he may have.

Dad's side is German, Swede and Polish. Mom's is English and possibly Italian but I can't get confirmation on the latter.
Somehow, I'm related to Paul Revere down my paternal grandfather. Or so I have been repeatedly told, I've got a relative who might know for certain.
My Paternal Grandmother is 2nd generation immigrant German and Polish.
For the most part; German, Swede, Polish and English and a good portion of the first three are immigrant stock. Explains the fair skin, golden hair and steel-blue eyes, I think.

Not because such a claim is necessarily a lie but because such links rely on such faint ties that it puts you in a group of potentially hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people. Pretty much anyone who has family resident in Europe (other than those whose direct ancestors where incestuous farmers who never left their village) can claim descent from Mel Bloody Gibson.
Well, then, I guess you don't like me very much due to that
My mother's parents are Scottish whilst my father and his family are from England. What we know from my mother's searching is that on her side, we were descendants from the Scottish royal line, including (sadly) Robert the Bruce. One great-great-great-great (keep going on) grandfather once was the lord of the Skye, and yah. They're from the clan MacDonald (I think it's with an 'a', but I'm not to sure :/)
From there, my mother has traced our family history all the way to Roman times (most probably skipping over some), where we come to Constantine. Somehow, I'm related to him, and some other Roman Emperors I'm pretty sure of.
It's all muddled up, but yeah, I have a lot of dead-royalty blood in me.

I'm 1/4 each of Italian, German, Prussian, and Irish. The only thing I know is that my great grandfather moved to Milwaukee from Italy early 1900's. I still have some relatives in Ostra, Italy where my great grandfather moved from, and from what I've been told they're extremely rich. They picked up a huge beautiful piece of land after WWII and sold most of it to a company for millions.

Sorry to disappoint, but you've got another part Irish person here!
My mother's side can be traced back to the 17th Century from the Irish Duley (or Dooley) family. If any of you recognise that name, drop me a line.
My father's side bears the name Andrews, so obviously I'm part Scottish there, with my own golf course and everything.
However, having blonde hair and blue-ish eyes means that most likely my ancestors were Viking in nature.
No I'm not claiming to be descended from William Wallace. Mel Gibson can shove his freedom where the sun doesn't shine.
