So I vote for American Dad. It's the best.

Who can say no to futurama? The show that brought us both Bender and Zoidberg.

Yes but Bender and Fry are great too.

I particularly like that episode where they were on the Star Trek planet.

What do i find funniest at the moment?

Family Guy

What will be remembered by history as the best?

Simpsons

They are all touched by genius (South Park still tickles my chestnuts and Cartman is one of the great comic creations) but I don't find The Simpsons funny at all any longer. (nor do i find Futurama funny now for that matter)

We have been watching Homer for almost a lifetime.. constantly.. every week, everyday, over and over and over and over again.
They are now like comfortable pants which cradle the delicate danglings of our reticent deliberations.

But for it to have been funny for so long it has to be in a class of its own.

I remember that episode. Funny. What do you think about "Amazon Women In the Mood" and "The Honking"?

I'll also remember Futurama for this tribute:

"...the lost city of Atlanta!"

I love the American Dad intro with the newspaper headlines.

"Clever bumpersticker ends abortion debate."

"Isreal pulls out of gaza, gaza not pregnant."

"Optimist Drowns in Half-full Tub."

"President finally gets joke about his last name."

The characters of American Dad aren't that great... the alien and the fish try to be like Brian and Stewie, the "relief characters", but they fail horribly. In fact all the main characters in AD are just less-funny and more cliche versions of their respective family guy counterparts.

South Park is easily the best, but from this list Simpsons is totally superior. People consider it boring because they don't get the side jokes, the symbolism, while the only thing Family Guy can do is sex jokes, slap stick, and celebrity criticism.

I agree with Static on the comparison but I still say that Futurama is the best.

I've watched 6 episodes. Hated all of them, laughed maybe once the whole time.

Actually they are entirely different from them. The whole show is different, whereas Family guy makes countless pop culture references and revolves around a bunch of retards, American dad makes fun of patriotism and politics. The characters in AD actually appear to be more realistic. The show itself is just way more intellectual and has darker humor than Family guy.

Honestly, comparing it to Family Guy is just as retarded as comparing Futurama to the Simpsons. It's the knee-jerk reaction of "hey it's written by the same people so it must be similiar" which dooms many good shows. They're all good shows and also different from eachother.

Besides, it takes a few episodes to actually get the idea behind it. I had the same thing with futurama, I didn't enjoy the first few I watched because the jokes got lost. The humor in both Futurama and American Dad is not obvious, you miss it if you're not paying attention since the jokes build up in a longer time than Family Guy, The Simpsons or South Park.

I think people consider the Simpsons to be boring because it is in fact boring. How can strangling Bart still be funny after 10 years? Noone can keep a show interresting for more than 6 seasons, no matter how talented you are.

Family guy is funnier than Simpsons, except at the Simpson's height 12 ears ago when I was a kid. Futurama, however, gets my vote since it is funnier than Simpsons (about as funny as Family Guy), but WAY more cerebral than Family Guy, so I don't feel like a moron for liking it.

Look at it this way:
Simpsons= Bob Hope <---Family friendly (except recently)
Family Guy= Three Stooges <---funny, but childish
Futurama= Abbott and Costello <-- Best of the three

I really like Futurama but some episodes can be really boring. Or maybe I just don't get the jokes. :P

Please explain how a show with only a few seasons builds up jokes longer than shows with 10+ seasons.

Yes, strangling Bart isn't funny anymore, that and repeatedly exploiting Homer's well known stupidity. This repetition plagues the newer seasons, but what I'm saying is the deeper, hard-to-get jokes resonate louder than the rest. And South Park has been interesting for more than 6 seasons, IMO. :)

Well which episodes do you find boring? Because the one with Fry's dog was a bit boring. And which jokes didn't you get?
