i mean, we're all bad asses right?
either that or 300, because everyone in the states is extremely ripped and kicks the shit out of anyone who tries to intimidate us. (maybe just the second part, and by "kick the shit out of" i mean bomb the shit out of)
Sorry to tell you, but Spartans arn't Americans mate.
they're not american, but their values are.
Haha, as i'm sure you have read many books about Spartan Culture.

300 was such a shit movie.
way to dishonor the sacrifice of those soldiers at Thermopylae.
i'm still convinced that you could shoot phalanx warfare as it really happened, and make it compelling. instead of all of that bullshit matrix flying leaping bullshit.
like when they'd go out ahead of the line for some awesome spear through head action, that was the surest way to get killed, in that type of warfare.
bullshit.
i call shenanigans!
i've seen better film scraped off of teeth.

The Patriot fucking blew too.
again, show it the way it really happened. it can be made compelling without bullshit and pseudo-history.

Values.. Values.. There were values in that movie? Not to get this sidetracked or anything, but I may of missed the values because I was so distracted on the horribly fake shit that was happening.

As an American I would put Band Of Brothers up there also. But I am partial to Gettysburg even though it was about the Civil War. The movie expressed both side's of view what they we're fighting for. Also the number of friends that fought against each other was heart wrentching.
Jeff Daniels character Colonel Chamberlain's speech about what they we're fighting for was inspiring:
"This is a different kind of army. If you look at history you'll see men fight for pay, or women, or some other kind of loot. They fight for land, or because a king makes them, or just because they like killing. But we're here for something new. This hasn't happened much in the history of the world. We are an army out to set other men free. America should be free ground, from here to the Pacific Ocean. No man has to bow, no man born to royalty. Here we judge you by what you do, not by who your father was. Here you can be something. Here you can build a home. But it's not the land. There's always more land. It's the idea that we all have value, you and me. What we're fighting for, in the end, is each other. Sorry. Didn't mean to preach. "
The book was good too.
For the British I would like to mention "The Battle Of Britain" and the Australians "The Lighthorseman".

Well, it potrays the reality of modern Scotland far better than any other Scottish film I've seen before. It was all tartan and shortbread bollocks for the tourists before that.
i.e. see Braveheart.

Well, clearly, they come closer than anyone else to kicking as much ass as we do. They've got the eating rocks down, but they still can't shit bullets.
