hehe i just played my first game to see what all the fuss is about (i assume you mean the speed esc, freestyle version?*) so maybe i am not best qualified... However i'll push on regardless:
It seems that if there are consistent winners, in any style, there must be more than just luck involved. i.e. skill and knowledge gives advantage.

I think the strategies are fairly simple to be honest and if you employ them correctly and at speed, you will do well. (having watched a skilled proponent i could tell you most of the winning strategies now, after only one game)

As with any format though not everyone can isolate the basic strategies or even if they do, think quickly enough to put them into practice. It is not always so straightforward to make the best move in the face of vying forces.

Who will be the first Field Marshall? Probably SKYT as Poo is retired at 13 years of age

If he comes out to play i agree that Poo will Blitz.

Although he may be the best Standard player, I am not sure Comic can get the points fast enough, as he does not play Freestyle Speeds.

Skill and number of played on the freestyle maps both play into consideration. If your good enough to win them, even 40% of the time your rank will go up fast unless your already at the top then that % climbs a bit.

These guys are good on those maps but thats not all they play nor is it all they have played to get these rankings.
