Consoles made my Atari?
Well most notebly this is the Atari 7800, Atari 2600 and Jaguar. These people gave us Centipede, Frogger, Defender and Pac Man. To me they made horrible consolse but gave us wonderful/classic games.
classics. Made way for the newer games. Without this, we would be no where.

Consoles made by Nintendo?
AKA the Nintendo 64, and the Wii. They brought us Mario and Zelda. Again awesome games and techniclly lower end consoles but the games are so much fun and cheap that people love these consoles and were able to make it big. They have always been a family friendly company and target the youth but with their wii commercials they are trying to state that the wii can be for everyone. (thats why you see a party of old guys bowling)
They fucked up with the Wii. Originally, Nintendo had many hard-core games like Mario, Zelda, and so on. Now with the Wii, they switched their focus onto casual games. The few hardcore games dont do much, because the old-school Nintendo fanboys are too pist to stay loyal ...except Fircoal... Plus, the new gamers on the Wii will be turned off by blasting aliens in Metroid games and such.

AKA the Genesis and the Dreamcast. To me these are the worst. They brought us the 2k series and that is about it. The consoles were shit. But they did one thing right. If im not mistaken they were the first to introduce CD's instead of cartiridges.

Consoles made by Sony?
Playstation uno, Playstation dos, and Playstation tres. This really was the turning point in the gaming industry. With playstation it had way better graphics and featured CD's. It pack way more memory and better graphics than Sega did. For a while playstation was the only real console on the market. They have quite an impressive game list too. including: Doom, Gran Turismo, Eye Toy, Final Fantasy, and SOCOM. Sony has always been a leader in the hardware but not so much game freindly type. They have always targeted harcore gamers and that may be why they are losing the next-gen race.

I honestly believe that in comparison to other consoles of their time, the PS's got worse as the new ones came out. (PS1 was very good compared to other consoles....PS2 stayed in the competition, wasnt amazing but was still great.....PS3 was destroyed by Wii and Xbox

My favorite. The xbox and xbox 360. xbox 360 was the first in the next-gen to come out. They have targeted the causual gamer trying to appeal to everyone on the market. They best games from them are of course HALO and fuzion frenzy.

fusion frenzy?! the xbox is known for their shooters. They are the best for shooters. FF is really stupid. No one is buying an xbox360 to play FF2!! Also, dont forget that Microsoft made the PC, which is the best for computer games, and Cbox live is better than any other online competitors.

Atari
A great company that started with great arcade games. With Nolan Bushnell, they soared with many good classic games like pong. For the record Pac-Man I believe is NOT Atari, I think it's some Japanese game company, same with space invaders. Anyway, they made out of the first consoles and it was a big hit. They were great... At the beginning. Then money wanting bigwigs came in and ruined the free envoriment of Atari. It was a total clash. All the good people left and then Atari started making games like ET for the Atari 2600. (ACK!!!!!) And then they tried to reform with the Jagaur. Tried is the key word. IT was as bad as the Atari 2600. Needless to say, they suck now.

Nintendo
Nintendo my favorite of the console makers. They revived video games with the NES, and made great series such as MArio, Zelda, DK, and more. Also not to much they have the license to Pokemon. <3 Anyway, while they are getting more casual. There are still past games that are always worth a play even if they don't have as good of graphics. While the Gamecube wasn't the best. NES, SNES, and N64 were pure pwnage. The Wii is pwnage in it's own way. Now what would be cool is if we could have a nice blend of hardcore games like before using the classic or gamecube controller, and games that use the Wii's innovation. Sure they aren't that hardcore anymore, while they should be. But they still have games worth playing.

Sega
Created Sonic another one of the highly like francisces. They made a good run at Nintendo during the NES, and SNES era. But they lost. Anyway, they didn't make bad consoles as they still have fans now. They really weren't that bad. But the Saturn was a mistake. They priced it too high and too early with very little games. It flopped as people bought the PS after it came out 4 months later. I'd prefer them back in the race then Sony or Mircosoft

Sony
Their hit it with the PS, and as much as I hate to say it took the crown away from Ninty, and their awesome N64. ALso they got Final Fantasy. *evil glare* Anyway, they were able to get some decent games onto their system and roll with it, and become a highly respected console maker. But I'm still not sure if they actually make any games themselves. And the PS3, is kinda like the Saturn. Too expensive and too many unneeded things. Probably will be their downfall.

Mircosoft
The King of FPSs. I don't have much to write because as you all probably know, I do not like FPSs. Anyway, at least they got their fans right.

Other
They aren't always not known because they sucked but because they were obscure, and some were only released in Japan, like the Wonderswan. Anyway, I don't know many, but some people here may. They may be worth a try, you never know. There are other consoles outside of our 4 sided company race.
