Alright, so I took my old map and got rid of the lines because they were confusing, added some basic army circles, and got this:

Now, Keredrex has said that what I showed was NOT was he was talking about, and was looking for something more along the lines of this very very very rough draft (ignore the text on the side):

Which one would you guys prefer to see?

I don't have any army circles on that one yet, but basically, there would be 8 territories for each block, four for the X and four for the O.

Well, I still don't know if I'm going to go with the 18 or 72 terit map.

What do you guys think of this for a 72 terit map?

And an 18:

It looks too distracting with the red and blue and then all the dots - you can hardly see the dots.

Alright... What colours should I use then?

Colours that aren't distracting you from the main idea of the game - Conquer.

No idea what colours, it just look like big targets.

I don't even know if I'll be keeping them red and blue. Some suggestions on what colours I should have them as would be nice.

either way...gold + silver...green + purple...whatever it is. color coded army dots would help A LOT IMO

Alright, I'll be sure to include that in a future update.

I think you should go with the 72 you have and make 5 x circles and 5 y circles neutral.

Code: Select all

N = one of the 4 spaces neutral.

For x  For o
N| |N   |N|
-+-+-  -+-+-
 |N|   N|N|N
-+-+-  -+-+-
N| |N   |N|

What do you mean by x and y circles?

He means Army circles..... In other words going with the 72 territs.....

For the X's in each of the nine Squares.....5 (4 territ) X's start neutral
For the o's in each of the nine Squares.....5 (4 territ) o's start neutral

In his diagram he explained which squares for the 5 X's & O's

Basically 40 territs will start neutral

No... 10 would start neutral. One of the 4 x's in the ones I indicated, and one of the 4 o's in the ones I indicated.

Alright, well here's a test with colour coded army circles and naming:

In terms of neutrals, I imagine it like this:

maybe make a diagonal (or row, or column) entirely neutral just to ensure that nobody gets an extremely lucky drop and manages to knock out three neutrals and win.

Anyone else playing would need to let them keep it. You don't win unless you can hold a victory condition when your turn starts.

Everything is evaluated at the start of your turn, everything you own runs through the xml and the conditions in the xml apply to you then.

Do you guys prefer the sharp, hard look, or the soft, blurry look?

SHARP...But will there be army circles?
