Bestiality is wrong because an animal can't give consent. Neither can a child, an unconscious person, drugged person, dead body, ect. Make sense? Also, please note that there are plenty of paedophiles and zoophiles that have never acted on their... urges. I find such people admirable.
Racism is something we can try and be rid of. I'm sure we'll succeed some day, as long as right-wing assholes stop pushing that sort of thing onto their children. A left-wing racist is kinda odd... But I'm sure their out there and they can all follow the same advice.

This is one of the handful of things I (almost) agree with. As an athiest I just skip over the "under God" part of the pledge. If I don't agree with a statement I don't say it. And the argument of "corrupting" athiest's children or whatever makes no sense. If they aren't old enough to think to themselves "I don't agree with this statement" and not state it then it isn't corrupting them. That said they still have the right to express their (misguided) views. The majority of America accepts homosexuality, so should those against it "Shut Up and BE QUIET"? Don't mean to hijack the thread, but this has always annoyed me...gave athiests a bad name why don't you?

How about the fact that neither originally had it?
Here is something to think about my dear jay. Theodore Roosevelt argued against "In god we trust" on coins because he thought it sacrilegious to put the name of your god on something so common as money. As I am sure you know, a number of commandments forbid the trivial use of your god's name in the Bible, such as Exodus 20:7, Deuteronomy 5:11, and Leviticus 19:12. Hmmm...your gods name being used daily to buy drugs, pay prostitutes and fuel gambling binges at casinos nationwide, yet you have no problem with this. As for the pledge of allegiance, we should probably use the

In 1954, Congress after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus, added the words, 'under God,' to the Pledge. ONLY THEN did the Pledge become a patriotic oath and a public prayer...not before.
If you found out that the bible you cling to had been altered a few hundred years ago by someone people who didn't agree with what it said, wouldn't you want to worship the ORIGINAL version?

Jay's hateful post, attributed tellingly to the wrong person for added and entirely spurious oomph, is just an attempt to make life easier for the weak-minded.
Changing attitudes and changing the world is always going to involve changing ourselves and other people in often personally inonvenient ways. All jay's post is saying is that he shouldn't ever have to suffer minor personal inconvenience, or think too hard about stuff that he doesn't want to think about. (See how it ends with a caps-lock patriotic rallying cry, as if that makes its content acceptable to all but non-patriots and communists?)

This is basic maths. It is also a reaction to the discomfort produced by the actual, nation-wide arrest figures by race, with which it has nothing to do.
According to Human Rights Watch, 13 % of teh US population is black, compared with 41 % of the prison population. That is an uncomfortable statistic for anyone to hear. So is it easier to feel that discomfort, or to read knee-jerk bullshit about '70% black' cities because it makes you feel better?
Jay you are getting worse. This is hateful nonsense, as anyone who actually looks at it for more than a second can see. Doesn't matter who you vote for, this is just lazy thinking for lazy, prejudiced people.

Its the difference between the liberal mindset and the conservative mindset. Remember when Dan Quayle made the Murphy Brown statement? About single mothers? I took the statement NOT as a put down of single mothers, but as "it is best for the child" for BOTH parents to participate in the upbringing of a child. Where as my left-leaning professor in college took it as an insult to single mothers. That was the first time in my life I realized that..... there really is a difference between how each side thinks.

Interestingly, and ironically, this is the exact same problem I had with that film you posted that was going to 'wake us all up'. The 'journalist' was saying 'rockefeller said this, rockefeller said that', and the film was presenting it as
direct speech. In quotation marks. You didn't seem to have a problem with it there. In fact you dismissed my complaint out of hand.

That's good that you're not a racsist. Though I don't believe I called you one. But I did point out that your paranoid theory that America is 'YOUR' country is pretty absurd considering the origins of white America (and White Australia, infact, and any colonised country) - You might not have a problem with people because of the colour of their skin, but you seem to have a problem with people from overseas coming to America. Also, I really hate when people use the argument of 'ITS ILLEGAL' -who gives a f*ck? Since when has legality had anything to do with what's right or wrong
