well it was first album
s
and it wasn't only you, I've been meaning to listen to the rest of their albums after I bought the last two...
anyway I think its a very different style from Three Cheers... I'll admit I wasn't as turned on when as when I heard Three Cheers but probly because I was surprised at the difference... it usually takes me a few tries to like music anyway... and I know they have to be better because in my experience every band's first album is way better than the rest

but how could that be? In Three Cheers they tried to bring people out of the gutter etc. but Black Parade was all about cancer, they tried to help people from a disease...isn't that trying harder than in Three Cheers?

cancer was written from a patients view of things to fit in with the story, sure that song helps, but generally the album that helped the most is three cheers for sweet revenge. the song cancer is always played at their concerts now, right next to im not okay, helena and demolition lovers. because they tend to be the most emotional and get the crowd going. its a very emotional song, the most emotional probably along with demolition lovers and im not okay. but three cheers has so many emotional songs.
see the bolded bit, that is where i have to go back to, this song isnt literall, it was wrote from the patients view because the patients is him in hios darkest moments.(if uv seen life on the scene dvd u see some footage of gerard out of it when he was an alcoholic and depressed.) on AOL sessions, gerard said that this song isn't meant to be taken literally. it isn't literal at all. it can be taken to mean a tiredness of life in general, not just cancer. or possibly it could mean suiced. "The hardest part of this is leaving you" - the hardest part of wanting to kill yourself is leaving behind the people you love.
bp:the entire CD is a story line
#1 he's dying
#2 he's
Then he remembers his life
Then at the end he comes back to life
By doctors...so really he doesn't die
He just has no pulse
three cheers is more...its about different things mainly trauma(helena/ghost of you/do you know what they do to guys like us in prison) and wanting to be ur own person(im not okay/give em hell kid/thank you for the vemon)
sorry for wall of text...i could write a whole opage on it but i wont lol.
