I don't use Amazon often. Last two orders were Xmas prezzies for the grandaughter, easiest way to get them there. Previous order on my account was some workout weights, by Mrs thecurl.

nope, don't/won't shop there. places like amazon & walmart always make me think of standard oil & how big business has finally managed to succeed in its' quest of basically running the world. anybody that shops at either of those places should be ashamed of themselves...

Antitrust? In regards to amazon? No Billy....
I''m not defending them, but their business model speaks for itself. 60% of their sales are from 3rd party sellers, like me. Pisses me off, but I sell a lot through them - they take 15% for essentially doing nothing BUT allowing me access to all the end users. The other 40% are still separate business entities selling via amazon, just with amazon in control of the product. They're basically a glorified shipping company (although I don't let them ship my shit because they're inept).
Wallymart? Always gonna be giant retailers. Sears & Roebuck started the trend in the 20s, but people don't care about them any more

Amazon business model is legit lol. Take a giant commission just for 'connecting' you to your customer and taking the payment. How does the shipping cost work with them? Do you eat that too, or do they give you like a stipend to offer it as a prime/free shipping option?

You can either let them handle shipping or choose to do your own shipping
If they ship (90+% of people do this) you have to ship your shit to their warehouse in bulk and they do everything for another small cost.
.
My shit is custom made to order. They cannot handle that. Plus they f*ck it up literally 50% of the time. I choose "free" shipping because Amazon shoppers need that. So....I have a holster I need say $15 for. Shipping is $5. Misc fees are 3%, Amazon is 15% of GROSS. So I put it out for $24-$25 and $15 trickles down
The other fun part is they keep some bizarre formula on earnings and take like 90-120 days to fucking pay. It also took almost a year to get my store set up AND if you're not paying for help, there's no help. I really can't stand them
The real reason I do it is for commercial exposure - I have a B2B setting so commercial orders come in differently, then convert to direct sales. I've gotten many good new customers that way and that's my bread and butter ...
The sad part is they want every human out there to be buying discontinued shit in bulk and setting up a store and GET RICH QUICK!! They offer tons of classes, seminars, workshops etc to convince people to do this and 90% of normal people that try just get screwed

Amazon used to sell my products too. We did a similar thing where we just inflated all our pricing in order to cover 'free shipping' + their commission ect. you could literally go to our own website and buy thing for like 25-30% cheaper but people seemed to prefer buying through Amazon.

Ok, now I'm curious about what sort of things Red's buying off Amazon. God sounds triggered.
