Flex,

Sorry to cause any problems, but I was reviewing things, and since I'm from Missouri, I would like to switch to Harry Truman, since he was also from Independence, Missouri. Can we still do that?

All right all, I'm requesting privileges on this tourney and we'll get things started.

One slight shift.
With 8 candidates in the mix, I've created a pair of four-candidate parties.
The nominee from each party (2) will advance to the General Election, while the candidate with the most popular vote out of the six also-rans will put together an Independent run to give us a three-person race in the General Election.

I will be filling in the maps as states are contested ... your candidates color is represented on the team sign-up list (yellow, red, green or blue). I'll also have a running tab for the primary delegation count updated as we go.

good luck and no mud slinging :)

Flex,

Could you elaborate on this rule quoted below further or provide an example?

"In 1 vs. 1 play if Player 1 kills Player 2 not allowing Player 2 a turn in the kill round, votes for the attacking player in that round will be reduced to 33 percent."

Does this mean that if Player 1 kills Player 2 after round 11, then votes are reduced to 33% rather than some percentage of the votes. I'm trying to figure out how you calculate how many votes are given to the winning player and if this is somehow detrimental to Player 1?

That rules affects Player 1's accrual in the kill round only (it's not a reduction for the entire game).

So if Player 1 has a 38-24 edge in troops heading into round 8, then drops another 12 troops before finishing off the game (without Player 2 getting a turn in round 8), then Player 1 would be credited with (12 x .333 = 4 troops for that final round). So the game would end with Player 1 having a 42-24 edge in troops/votes.

I'm waiting until all maps for a state are complete before posting the 'voting' results, but I expect it will make more sense. I'm getting close to being able to post some of these early states.

Hi all, just sent out the first of the Super States -- California.

This includes everyone in a 1 vs. 1 showdown and also our first appearance of triples battles.
The winners will meet in another California triples battle, while the losers will also meet in a second triples showdown.

A whopping 494 delegates are at stake in California, so play hard and have fun.
It's the biggest state in the campaign.

We have our first results (I'll load up the map at the end of the weekend), but Harry Truman takes Nevada for the Liberty Party winning 28 of the state's 48 delegates.

Maps have been updated. A lot changed while I was out of town.

Tight races in both parties and plenty of room to make a move with all six Super States still in play.

I got privileges to start my NBA tourney this morning only to see one of our players has been banned, so looking for a new player to step in as we start the season. Here's the link if anyone is interested. We haven't officially played any games yet, so you can pick whatever available team you would like to represent.

Maps updated.

We have a tight race on the Liberty side with only 10 delegates separating the top 3 candidates through 11 states. Those three are only about 150,000 popular votes apart.

Also, of note, the polls in California are about to close (at least on the Liberty side), which will put our first SuperState into the books.

Happy playing everyone :)

I'll post an update to the polls/maps tonight :)

Maps are updated.

We have Dwight D. Eisenhower leading the Liberty race with about 1/3 of the states counted, while Teddy Roosevelt is pacing the Eagle party through 11 states.

We had some super close races in this recent Liberty batch.

Dwight Eisenhower (TheJonah) turned Vermont green by 634 votes over George Bush (airbornemojoe)
Dwight Eisenhower (DukeHazzard) also turned Tennessee green by 8,266 votes (out of nearly 2 million) over Ross Perot (flexmaster33).

Good stuff everyone, keep it going.

maps are updated with our first super state in the books in the Liberty race.

California with its 20+ million voters was decided by about 90,000 votes with Ross Perot edging out Harry Truman for the first big delegate grab of the race.

Late breaking news: Asindoni has won Idaho for Ralph Nader in the Eagle Party race, that means that all eight candidates have claimed at least one state so far in the election process. Congrats all.

The next batch of states will be going out tonight :)
