My son asked me one day if the Bible said that masturbation was wrong. I said no, because it has nothing whatsoever to say about masturbation. I then asked him if the Bible had anything to say about lustful thoughts, and was he able to masturbate without entertaining such. I can't myself, so i've been punished with failing eyesight and hairy palms.

That's nothing to be ashamed of. Most of the people who think masturbation is fine also think that gay marriage is fine, so if one minority sexual preference is fine, why shouldn't this one be?

I personally think it's very wrong. I've done it, and probably will in the future, and I have been, and will be in the future, very ashamed of it. But I'm not ashamed of being ashamed of it, if that makes sense at all.

I'm curious as to why you put 'God' with 'Yes'. Many people that aren't Christians don't masturbate, so why did you put god with it?

Like i said, there's nothing in the Bible that says anything about masturbation. It's not mentioned - period. If it were important to God, i imagine he would have mentioned it. Any of you CC "Jesus Freaks" may correct me if i missed something.

the option in yes is what i think of it. that's all. i'm a self-proclaimed Christian yet i still jack it. it's just a little add-on, just like how "it's natural" complements the "no" option

For the most part, your on the right track, BK. Leviticus essentially makes men ceremonially unclean for emissions, but the same goes for women on their periods, and there's not sin offering, so no sin is involved.

The lust thing is where the trouble is. It's pretty clear that lust is sin, both from the OT, and from the words of Jesus. So masturbation in the most common sense, by oneself and looking at porn, would be sin, because there is certainly lust involved.

I'd like to add though, that it seems that within the confines of marriage, pretty much anything goes. The Bible makes it pretty clear that sex is designed, in part, to enhance the bond between married couples. So as long as sexual activity remains between husband and wife, whatever floats their boat is game.

As to "is it natural?" it seems like a ridiculous question. Lots of unacceptable things are natural, and lots of great things are unnatural. Whatever "natural" means, it is horrible as a moral guide.

I don't masturbate people... I just call all of your mothers and she'll do it for free... Sometimes, she even bakes me cookies so I can eat while she works.
